Why would you even have to ask this? It's because Iran illegally took over our embassy and held Americans hostage for over 400 days. When the matter was resolved there wasn't even so much as an apology. And you have an idiot for a president, as do we, but at least our president wasn't one of the student leaders who took over an embassy. And I've known many Iranians here in the United States, but they were Baha'is, and generally maltreated by the authorities in Iran. While they would not say anything bad about the Iranian government themselves, it was pretty apparent by the Iranian government's behavior that government actions there are appalling. The fact is this: the Iranian government seems to be reflective of the Iranian character. And that's scary.

To tell you the complete truth, you're the first person I've come across who has even said anything about Iranians ~ other than what has been in the media regarding 'nuclear' processes.

The Iranians I've known (years back) were really nice people, though they were not at all happy about the Shah being kicked out. But they were decent, fair, hard working nice people.

Sash.

Small minded people tend to lump all middle easterners into a group. However, Iran has not been exactly friendly to the US and could be a future threat. While we may not approve of their government, the citizens are individuals and need to be seen as such. Not everyone who lives in the middle east is a terrorist.

I certainly don't , |I have many Iranian friends- are you sure you are not being super sensitive - sometimes a few bad experiences can make us feel like everyone is avoiding us...

Because generally Americans are stupid as a whole and see anyone from the middle east as terrorists, which is obviously not true. It also goes along with that 'pack mentality' where if they see someone else doing it, then it means they can do it. I think it's dumb, but I don't speak for America as a whole (unfortunately :-P haha!) Hope that clears things up for you! :-)

People avoid other people and things they don't like. Just because they think it's easier to avois something they don't like. Not getting involved with whatever, is easier then getting involved in something they don't want to get involved with.
