In the "olden" days children would be punished for speaking out against their parents/teachers. People didn`t play video games but instead spent time with their families. Many other changes have occured...these are just a few.
Why have our expectations lowered so dramatically? Why have we become ruder, lazier, and more sedentary? Why don`t we appreciate the goodness of what life used to be? You see it in the media and how people live their lives. I already know that advancing technology is a factor. What else could it be? Is there an underlying principle that makes humans less interested and productive as time wears on?

I am a 28 year old single, straight, virgin male that has never had a girlfriend or never even a first kiss. Gee, I guess I should not have ran away from that game of spin the bottle when I was a kid. Anyway, I only went on a couple of dates with two different girls (when I was 23-24) and I was more interested in getting back home to get coffee with my friends. I don't believe in sex before marriage, but I would like to try getting a girlfriend to see if it's worthwhile to have that kind of love in my life. However, I do not like to being touched or be too close to anyone for too long. Kissing seems really gross to me! That might seem immature, but I'd be wouldn't be telling the truth if I said otherwise. I love getting really close to getting a girl interested, then ruining my chances. I get what I only can describe as a "high" from that. I was not ever abused and I am not gay as I am attracted to girls and girls only. Can anyone identify a specific problem. I am lost.

In an effort to set guidelines for acceptable teenage behavior, parents and other adults in authority often make rules that restrict the freedoms of the individual.
How much freedom and responsibility should teenagers have in making their own decisions? Explain your position by using evidence from your own experience or the experiences of other people.

Do you ever look at the world as an increasingly harsh and difficult place to live in?

Are you tired of the flashing lights and the screaming senseless TV, the blaring radio, the internet in general, and the cruel and senselessness of human nature?

Please share with me, and how do you deal with it?

"THEY SAY THE WORST CYNICS ARE FRUSTRATED IDEALIST."

I got it from a book I just finished reading. Its called "THE KILL CLAUSE" by Gregg Hurwitz. Great book if you like action thriller's! Anyway, that quote really stroke a cord with me. I like it a lot! What do you think of it?

Normality for me is a cruse on a person in witch the person gives up their identity to blend in

And also is forced on to those that don't meet that "normal" standard.

One things for sure " normal " people really need to open there minds more and think for themselves

what do you think normality is?

Have you ever ask a really BAD misunderstood questrion on this site? I asked a question earlier about whether or not there were just some people who shouldn't be allowed to have sex.Just should have never lose their virginty. I was really just commenting on soceity, with the cheating and all the crazy things people do these day. I meant in a TOUGUE AND CHEEK kind of way, but everyone else didn't think so! what they read and what was trying to say was completely different! Needless to say I deleted the question! Has that ever happen to you? ever ask a question that got taken ther wrong way?

I really pissed some folks off!

What economic, political, social, psycological or other forces existed which made people capable of such unspeakable cruelty?

Do you think that there are people living today in the U.S. who would be capable of this sort of thing if they were in similar circumstances?

So I have been overweight most of my life and it has hindered my dating.

For some reason everyone on here gives me that "no it is yourself esteem" conversation.

It isn't my self esteem it is the way of the world. So I want to wait another 50-60 pounds (i was 238 now 200) till I start. What is wrong with that?
Isn't that just giving myself a fair chance?

Why is it that the answers that contain nothing but facts offend people more than the answers containing opinions? Not just in my answers, but other answers as well. Same is true in everyday conversation. When did reality become taboo?
