In being a servant … who has more responsibility to society in their role?

The movie star has great exposure and if they are directing their talent towards positive models of behavior then they would; by that exposure, serve society in a greater capacity. That's not to take away from the person picking the lettuce though, without them a lot of people wouldn't be eating healthy and that could effect folks in a very negative way over the long haul, but by being in the fields they simply wouldn't have the opportunity to share any of their ideas or influences beyond those in their immediate area. Good question G.G.! Hopefully I'll be around long enough to answer a few more before my next suspension, take care.

I have asked myself this before and why would a movie star make so much more money then the veggie picker or farmer. The answer is that food is needed by ALL and is a necessity for life, movies are not. We need certain necessities affordable by the masses, therefore the farmer/veggie pickers make less $, if you are low income you don't HAVE TO see a movie, you DO HAVE TO EAT.

Lettuce pickers, field workers. Without that head of lettuce, those other fruits and vegetables, no one gets their vitamins etc. I seriously doubt that Brad Pitt or Paris Hilton would ever take up farming for a time to help others.
Look at how many people rely upon lettuce for salads and sandwiches? I would rather have that head of lettuce for my family, then a movie that you cannot survive off of.

People who work hard for a living. Because making a movie i wouldn't call as a real job, ok they may get millions for making a film, but can you see a lettuce picker earning say £2,000,000 for picking lettuce in their lifetime

Movie stars are entertaining and amusing it is true but have you ever noticed the little people that do so much for so little.

For example, there is the baby sitter who cares tenderly for our children. Our teachers in schools, who teach all of us that we are valuable and set fine examples for us to follow. Police officers and other public peace officers, who keep us safe from others and even sometimes our selves. How about the mail person or fire person? What about the men and women that work in nursing homes or hospitals, caring for us when we are sick and for our beloved grand parents that we don't have time to care for. Even more important what about volunteers in these places and other community services, such as rape crisis operators and volunteers in homeless shelters for people and animals, the men and women who donate time and money to help someone in need. Also are farmers who supply people with food and drinks.

These people truly are the people that hold great responsibility in there roles. Movie stars are really nothing but over paid over publicized people that do nothing but entertain the public.

how about Teacher or movie star..no one WANTS to be a lettuce picker they do it out of fear (of starving or something similar) I am assuming that you mean someone making $0.22 cents a head of lettuce not the actual farmer who is providing food for the masses

Common sense unquestionably dictates that the lowly people who go out and slave every day in the hot sun for pitifully low wages and standard of living are providing and infinitely greater service to society's infrastructure and survival than any screen star.

In my opinion the wages paid to field workers could be closer to what movie stars make and movie stars could make closer to what field workers earn. Equalize the playing field a little more and put the value where it truly belongs.

both have their benefits. but honestly its very rare for movie stars to give back to society other then entertainment which you have to pay for to enjoy. yes you have to pay for lettuce but food is a neccessity. entertainment is on a more "when you have the time and extra money" deal. Nutrition before movies. so i have to say the lettuce picker
