Normality for me is a cruse on a person in witch the person gives up their identity to blend in

And also is forced on to those that don't meet that "normal" standard.

I'm not so sure there is a 'normal'.
I think a better word choice would be 'average'.

You're mostly right - to be normal is to blend in. However what normal in one society might be totally taboo in other, so it's a realative thing. Also, people who are normal are rarely great achievers - look at entertainment, business or politics - it's usually someone who is pretty whacky makes it to the top.
Howere it take abnormal person with rather "large attachments" to be able to take all the critisism before they make it to the top.

I fully support you view on it, but all ive got to say is that normality is used for stability. for example, the law. if everyone wasnt 'nomal', and could create their own concept of law, chaos commence...

I think normality is like a virus which youre born with, and as you grow you lose more of yourself (your own identity) to the growing virus. There will come a time when you cannot be helped, and you are completely under the control or the 'norm', and your ideas, your personality that defined you as you will not be visible anymore.
The only way the virus can survive is if you care. if you care about what other people think it will thrive, but if you believe you are yourself, and no one is better...then youve got the antidote.

I learnt this, afetr 5 years of trying to fit in. i learnt that they were never going to accept me, because i was NEVER normal. i was and am so much better than them. I used to degrade myself to fit in, but now im so much happier. Im using my unique skills instead of neglecting them... ive finally been cured of my disease.

Most of us think of normal as the experiences that we're familiar with.

That's what enables people to sometimes put up with really unacceptable treatment from others if they've come from a dysfunctional family. To them dysfunction is "normal", and they don't realize it or know how to fix the dysfunction.

BUT, they often eventually do realize that they don't have to accept unacceptable behavior from others. Sometimes they have to leave negative, dysfunctional relationships and create a new, functional, healthy "normal".

You are wrong. Normality is being yourself. How do you blend in and still being yourself? Find the proper group that will except you for yourself, don't give up your identity.

Normal is subjective. It varies from person to person. Normal to me is to wake up each morning, and make it through the day, everyday.

there is no normal. normal is what humans always look for. there is no description to normal, most of the time the word normal is used to judge a person.

I don't think there is a standard for "normal". What's normal for one person may not be for another.

Normal sucks. But not being normal on this site gets you tossed. I agree with your definition: normal = conformity.
