Although in science, most of the time, we have the answer because there is some standard to evaluate it; However, not all scientists agree with each other. In social life, there is not a straight line to separate between right and wrong; sometimes, we even change our ways of thinking. What we thought was right ten years ago is no longer right today. Just like when you do the survey questions, a month or year later, we will answer them differently. When there is no absolute right or wrong, people will fight for sure. Others, because the believe they are right at the first place, many times to save face.

Pride and thin skin.

I see a lot of that happening at YA, especially in the Cultures & Groups section. If someone disagrees with you, they report you and your answer gets deleted. So Yahoo is actually encouraging intolerance for opposing views.

I agree which you would be stereotyping slightly. i'm a huge Harry Potter fan. i do no longer decide human beings for no longer liking Harry Potter, or for thinking another sequence is greater advantageous. (the only time i'm getting protecting is as quickly as I study comments approximately Twilight being greater advantageous than HP, and that's in many situations only because of the fact the remark makers have in no way study HP and don't be attentive to what they're speaking approximately. Plus, I only get great bored with listening to the full HP v. Twilight situation.) i in my opinion truly like and comprehend the two Percy Jackson and Lord of the jewelry. I additionally could of in no way considered pitting them against one yet another. i do no longer truly comprehend why human beings try this. yet, while examining in the path of the solutions to the questions you related, i observed many professional-HPers explaining how they like PJ or LOTR, yet they only like HP greater advantageous. So like many human beings have already reported, you won't be able to decide all HP followers by skill of the comments of a choose few. And in basic terms a observe to Calliope, no, human beings do no longer relatively have self assurance that JK Rowling invented the three headed canines. maximum of Rowling's creations are related to something, no be counted if it relatively is mythology, the constellations, history, or Latin. lots of the character's names are derived from a type of (and a great style of alternative) sources, and their personalities are installation to their names. only like Argus Filtch, the corridor-monitoring caretaker at Hogwarts, grew to become into named after the Greek watchman Argus, the very sensible and strict Professor Minerva McGonagall grew to become into named after Minerva, the Roman goddess of conflict and information. JK Rowling did no longer thieve those concepts from Rick Riordan. She grew to become into only inspired by skill of history and technological expertise.
