I am trying to write an essay relating to personal troubles, public issues as defined by C.W.Mills but I am unable to do this with an academic tone. My understanding is that a personal trouble is to do with the individual and their character when they perceive their values to be threatened, this then transforms into a public issue when it relates to significant numbers of people perceiving their values to be threatened. I am looking for clarification of what personal troubles/public issues are and assistance with putting this into layman's terms without using the terminology used by Mills

In what ways does poetry impact society today and what are the major roles it plays (other than in school)? I am not talking about music lyrics, but rather published poetry.

i was about to watch this movie and i felt disturbed because of what one movie goer told me is so sick

here is what one reviwer rote Victor made the film. Its ironic that this movie is about evil clowns, because a clown is someone that usually makes kids happy, the kid actually has a line about why clowns are fake and shouldnt be trusted. Its all so weird, like was Victor trying to get himself caught? There is so much incriminating visuals and dialogue in this film that just doesnt belong in a hor

horror movie, but well brings to mind kiddie porn. Apparently Victor was also a friend of the kids family for years. This movie is almost like Victor was bragging about his molestation of the boy, using his camera and storytelling skills to shove in everyone's faces his relationship with the boy

I'm ready for some negative answers - it'll be interesting to see if anyone has a positive response . .
Why are we pushing so hard to throw away every ideal and practice that people have used for centuries?
Examples = manners, respect, courtesy, chivalry, honor
There are many more non-PC examples like conquered nations, class systems, clothing (dress for women etc) that are in this question.
(dont get me wrong i wear jeans to work and live on a computer)
I'm more talking about the BASIC way things worked for thousands of years . . . why are people so keen on reforming the entire world?
In about 200 years, we have almost destroyed everything good about our world (the respect honor etc) for "forward progress" and for some weird reason lol . . . . things are going to heck . .
Any ideas?

There are thousands of examples of murdered children or children who are sexually assaulted all over the world. In the UK about 100 children are missing persumed dead a year in America its 10 times that amount. In Australia there are so many unsolved missing children cases. Childrens Services are inundated with abused children with some absolutely awful things done to them. Its realy is not the day and age to be trusting people and can you blame parents for being suspicious? And its not just men who are targetted but we are seeing a growing trend of women who are abusing children. Female School teahcers having sex with their underaged pupils. So can you realy blame parents for being concerned and suspicious. Its not about a world gone made, its about terrified parents. What do you think?

Well as everyone knows, white people are more qualified for good jobs. thats just how it goes. Then they come out with this affirmative action thing and say "now black people and other minorities are qualified just because they arent white". but this doesnt change that fact that im more qualified. when are people going to stop being so stupid? i think affirmative action is a bad choice for america. much much worse than slavery. what do you think?

Did anyone read roachy’s question earlier about taking a photo of his daughter’s first time in the swimming pool. He was accused of being a pedophile by one of the staff
That was shocking and I want to keep this subject alive because the world has gone mad. So many guys are suffering this ignominy nowadays and it hurts
Read my incident

I'm one of the few dads where I live who goes out on the square and plays with my kid and also his friends when they join in. I organise them into a game or do some spin arounds the way little kids like. Have done so for a couple of years and seen the kids all growing up and had them in and out of the house with an open door policy and it’s been great.
One day recently though I was out play fighting with my boy One of his little girl friends wanted to join in and we had a great laugh the two of them hanging off me while I tried to escape. Then a fella who had been looking over for a while (her dad I think or an uncle possibly) who I'd never seen out playing with the girl in the last 2 years that I've had her in and out of my house, calls her away and stops her game and makes her play in her front garden instead. Just like that. No stroll over and introduce himself and find out how his daughter knows me. No, no courtesy at all. Just an accusing eye, and accusing mind and an action that cut me really deep, because I knew exactly what was going through his mind and it made me feel sick and physically upset me to the point that I had to go inside and go to bed
He didn't seem to care where his daughter was for two years when he's getting free child minding in mine and everyone else’s houses at the weekend and evenings while he goes to the pub and doesn't play with her
Actually writing about this now is bringing it all back and I remember how painful it felt to know what he was thinking of me. Do you know to this day I still haven't been able to go back out and play with all the kids together again no matter how many times my kid asks me I just can’t do it and that makes me really sad
Why are people so insular now that they would rather think that of me than get to know me as a neighbour
It is sickening

So am I right or am I oversensitive to the issue ?
