Well as everyone knows, white people are more qualified for good jobs. thats just how it goes. Then they come out with this affirmative action thing and say "now black people and other minorities are qualified just because they arent white". but this doesnt change that fact that im more qualified. when are people going to stop being so stupid? i think affirmative action is a bad choice for america. much much worse than slavery. what do you think?

I think affirmative action is racist....but against blacks...its says they are not good enough on their own merit...that the bar has to be lowered.....or that the only way a black person could get a job is if some one makes an employer hire them.... ...everyone should get a job or an education on their own abilities...all races are able to perform at the same level if the same standards are expected of them...I really believe Affirmative Action started out as a noble cause...but like so many noble causes, time and the "powers that be" have made a mess of it...if I ever found out I got a job just to meet a quota....I think I would be very upset....

Definately a stupid idea. See, I am probably just as qualified as you are for the job, but I get hired simply because I'm black and come in at just the right time for the hiring quota. Imagine that I might be wondering if the boss even notices my skills and talent. SOMETIMES you are more qualified than minority people. Sometimes you are not, it's not because you are white. I think you are trying to start a riot in here and that's totally uncool. I agree though, affirmative action is just swinging the pendulum of resentment to the other extreme. I think people could do with a little less attention paid to ethnicity and more to education and experience. I know my boat would float then.

First of all, I think your conception of affirmative action is a little off. It doesn't quite work like that. However, I do agree that it is a bad idea. It's not that black people are getting jobs they aren't qualified for, but the fact that they are getting them because they are black. It is fair to say they are at a disadvantage in life, but using this disadvantage as a criteria for employment perpetuates the victimological thinking on part of the black community. If the guilty white people continue to give minorities special treatment, there will be know force to remove the mindset of acceptable, if not expected, failure.

although I do believe you on the actual incontrovertible actuality that race might want to no longer remember in words of acceptance into college, I even might want to invite what state do you stay in? I stay in CA, contained in the college of California gadget, there became a regulation that exceeded making it unlawful for the united statesto settle for students in accordance with race. yet right that's the end result. each and every UC now's a minimum of 60% caucasian. with Asians mostly making up something else of the 40%. this signifies that different minorities are literally not getting the prospect to attend the school that they pick both because of undesirable grades or no thanks to pay for it. so as that being suggested, alot of those those who aren't shifting into the united statesare coming from low-earnings neighborhoods that lack a similar factors as wealthy white neighborhoods. the placement became rooted deep and the end result became basic to work out. yet to this present day, in the adventure that your software to a UC has any hint of race, it really is blacked out. Affirmative action fights for equality for each human being. purely because ONE (large) guy were given the optimal seat contained in the rustic does no longer advise that ok, we are all equivalent now. seem at gay rights, why have they no longer gotten their rights to get married in each and every state? because Affirmative action remains operating and it is going to proceed operating perpetually.

To hire someone simply because of their skin color and not whether or not they have the ability to do the job is not only racist, but also stupid.
