There are thousands of examples of murdered children or children who are sexually assaulted all over the world. In the UK about 100 children are missing persumed dead a year in America its 10 times that amount. In Australia there are so many unsolved missing children cases. Childrens Services are inundated with abused children with some absolutely awful things done to them. Its realy is not the day and age to be trusting people and can you blame parents for being suspicious? And its not just men who are targetted but we are seeing a growing trend of women who are abusing children. Female School teahcers having sex with their underaged pupils. So can you realy blame parents for being concerned and suspicious. Its not about a world gone made, its about terrified parents. What do you think?

Stranger danger and those type of issues are quite pervalent in our society and there are companies who undertake workshops on these issues to train parents and children on being more aware. Some people may not be majorily concerned by child abduction or abuse but according to the statistics they are in the minority . And Historically speaking children who disapeared in villiages and towns caused major concern 100 - 200 years ago, because historically speaking children were not hurt in the context of what I am talking about. Look at the concern the Beaumonts (1966 Adelaide Australia) caused when 3 children went missing from a beach and this mystery still puzzles and scares people today or two girls disapearing from a foortball field in Adelaide Australia in the 70's.
As for child abduction and abuse "happens to others but not me" if this ostrich in the sand mentality protects you, great but it does not make you special or any more safer than anyone else!!!

You are right - you have a better chance of being safe with your family by moving to another country where no one knows you then in your own town!!!
