If they consider themselves active American citizens and keep themselves informed about the issues and the candidates then the reason they should vote is the same reason all citizens should vote.

If they don't consider themselves Americans and don't bother learning about the issues and the candidates in order to make an educated vote; then it would be important they not vote.

(same as why it is important that Scottish Americans or German Americans or Swedish Americans who educate themselves about the issues and consider themselves American citizens vote)

Well if they are legal, and are able to vote then because they make up a big portion of the population. In California they are the majority already, but many of them are just afraid or feel that their vote won't matter. This is why they are known as the "sleeping giant." We are based on a democracy that cannot work properly unless you have the involvement of the entire population and seek to benefit the majority of the population, if you take out the Latinos then you take out a big portion of the population and true democracy cannot occur.

why is it important for anyone to vote? It's all payoffs and insider dirty politics anyhow. Voting just gives the common folk false hope that they are actually contirbuting to the shaping of this country. Get real
