It was my birthday recently and I invited my mother and her friend Anne out for dinner at a restaurant. Also, a married couple I know asked me if it would be ok if they joined us in the celebrations, to which I happily agreed (as more the merrier). When I told Anne about my married couple friends coming along as well she said, "Never mind me, I won't come". I was surprised and I said to her that she must. During the whole evening, Anne hardly said a word. She never spoke to me, my mother nor my married couple friends at the restaurant even though we all tried our best to talk and include Anne. I asked Anne, "Are you ok?" She said, "Fine", but I know she wasn't. A couple of days later, Anne was herself again. Why do you think Anne acted like this? She was keen on coming along for the meal in the first place, but as soon as I mentioned others coming, she changed.
