I doubt not. We americans are too damn lazy and eat too much hamburgers, french fries, snickers, and pizzas. Not only that we drank too much pepsi or coca cola, and too much budweiser because we think it makes us wiser.

I don't think it's a question of nationality or ethnicity.
Of course, national cuisine can mean a lot when it comes to body weight but mostly it's a person's choice (leaving out the medical or hereditary cases of obesity). So it's whether you are too lazy and you lie around all the time and eat everything that you want and as much as you want.
Russians are also quite obese and I hear French are not, notwithstanding their everlasting hunger for croissants, cheese, baguettes and stuff ;) They gotta have some secret
