I was just reading the "featured question". Am I the only woman who thinks this is a bunch of crap? Why do there need to be more women in "power". How does that solve anything? Aren't people in general in charge of their own "power"? Doesn't anyone else notice that men are discriminated as well, they just dont' whine about it as much? I happen to have a great career......BUT being a mother and the head of my household (for the most part) is the best position of power I could ask for! Are the power hungry women missing that fact? Or are they so darn insecure that they have to get on their soap box and cry "discrimination!" Do we get discriminated? sure.......so does every other "group" out there that can be stuck in a category. It just seems like a cover up for insecurity and also an excuse for personal failures.

At the moment a male victim has to pay his abuser 18 years of 'child support'.

For those who condone rape; just turn it around and say that it should happen to women too. How's it sound now?

As far as I can see they basically come over and do all the terrible minumum wage jobs nobody wants and pay taxes towards the economyn and most of their wages will go into food and rent again helping the economy.
Apart from asylum seekers fleeing here for safety they usually can't claim any real level unemployment benefits and don't get the full benefits of the health service unless they gain citizenship which is a long and complex process.
It seems without immigrants very few of the worst jobs (production line workers, street sweepers etc) would get done at all and certainly I don't know many native people here who would activly seek this sort of work let alone relish having this kind of job.

Perhaps I am missing something? Why do people hate immigrants? Is it just simple racism?

Let me know your thoughts on Real Women Have Curves. Is bigger better or capitalism is promoting obesity to fill its own pockets. By saying that there is more to a woman than her weight are we ignoring the fact that overweight leads to many chronic diseases including but not limited to heart problems, diabetes, breathing problems, and many other things. Also child birth problems ( I have two rotuman friends who cant conceive becasue of they are over weight. ) , obesity leads to inability to particiate in playing with children. etc etc...

so why still big is beautiful? or is it? Accroding to research size 14 is the average size in womens clothing.

I am not saying or advoating women be paper thin, i mean i am a size ten since I can to the United States I have gained weight , but that doesnt mean that I am going to say I am happy with my weight, but at the same time I will not say I am bent out of shape, but the question remains why is the United States media promoting larger images of women. The most sane answer is that they will make money off of these women, right?

2 years ago, I started a new job in a predominantly black area. I go out to lunch about 3 days a week. When I am trying to get into traffic from the shopping center and traffic is backed up because of the light, not ONE single black person has let me into traffic in over two year. 3-4 whites have, but no blacks. Also, when I let people into traffic, not ONE single black person has acknowledged me with a wave for a thank you, but ALL whites have. Why is this? I have never been racist before, and this is almost MAKING me racist, because in this case, it IS the racial factor that matters. It's almost become a game that I play. What do you think the reason might be? And don't blame me, because I don't change facial features or anything like that.
