My free time always starts with positive thoughts, after a week of deadlines and stress at my work. I like to chill out at the weekends, going into town for shopping and a nice lunch. Cooking something nice to eat at home, with nice wine/or a few beers. Watch something interesting on the telly/or put on a movie. Play a mind thinking game on the computer. Look about on the internet. Read a good book. This is all a million miles away from how i think my day is going to be on a Mon/Frl basis. Then i just think roll on the weekend and hope the working week go by safe and in a reasonable good thoughts.

A good question. I tend to wake up thinking it will be the worst day in history. You know, savaged by wild boars on the way to work, get my lunch money stolen by 7 tramps wielding a cucumber, the usual stuff. If you wake up expecting the worst and it turns out not too bad, all is good! It even makes mundane days seem like heaven itself!

I think what usually happens will happen:
"Hi mate fancy going somewhere for lunch and then a museum or something?" I ask.
"Sure mate, I'll call you back later on and arrange something" they reply
I wait in all day - wasting the day then at 7pm or so I get a call saying
"Are you still up for going out tonight? Did you do anything good today"
"Yeah, I'll set off round now. I mostly spent the day sitting around on the internet" I say
"You waste so much time you know" they reply
And that is my usual weekend... a waste of time.

I can usually tell. When I wake up I either feel..lively and positive or crappy and demotivated. Never in between.
Today is gonna be a good day. I can feel it. I'm meeting my friend later, getting my hair done. Then going to the pub and a gig in Camden. Rock on!

GREAT! This (finally) Empty-Nesting long-term single parent is ENJOYING her time now ... and it is well deserved .... So although I will be working hard on home renovations and my yardwork, I know that NOW, at this age, my work will pay off, because when I finish the work in the Renovations (Which I am doing myself) that I won't ever have to redo the work again -- because I DO NOT destroy what my hard work has brought to fruition (unlike the violence/abuse/damage/destruction of my ex and now adult children).

No, can't tell. But my back is stiff. If I sort that out (i.e. get off YA and go do some stretches) it will be an OK day at least.
