I have always been a loner , since childhood, loved to play peacefully in my room with Barbies. Now at age 49 I still like to be alone and my friends don't understand. Yes I will go out with one of them, but i will not initiate any plans for entertainment. I like to be home, watch what i want to, be on the computer. I like the silence. Yes i work , run errands , talk to neighbors, does that make me a recluse or depressed as some think i am. I will go to bookstores (alone) and spend hours, I will walk on the beach ( alone) for hours. I am not anti-social, so what am I then? And lots of times I won't answer the phone either!

I am writing a paper and I am interesed to find out what other's think about the issue of reparation for slavery, segregation, and current forms of institutional racism?

Do you support reparation? Why or Why not?

What forms are acceptable? Affimative action in college entry? Forty-acres and a mule? Community investment projects?

Do have any great ideas about reparation you want to share?

Personally, I support the idea of reparation. Too often we remove ourselves from taking responsibility by saying it happened so long ago, but it wasn't long ago at all, and the poor are still unable to overcome the consequences.

I am not a "kids'" person. I will be the first one to admit that.

At the place I will be moving in to, I will have a roommate with a two year old son.

What advice do you have to keep me from overstepping my boundaries? Or screaming my head off?!

Let's face it, us teens can do everything you adults can do, from creating other youth to running a select few of other adults, like our parents. We should be the ones dictating how our country is being run, after all, its ours now (to some adults, it will be ours in the future). We have our own cultures, our own music, sports, and many other things too numerous to mention here. We give adults our business when we buy things, we support our schools by attending so adults can make money off us in the way of earning a salary, getting money to run the schools, etc. if it wasn't for us teens being born (actually means created), adults wouldn't have anything to brag about to other adults. What if a time comes when teens have no further need for adults? Aren't many adults just holding teens back from their full potential? Aren't the adults just in the way? What's your opinion on this matter? P.S. This is not MY thoughts against adults.

Seriously. It seems like some radical faction of yahoo answers members feel the need to bash a belief system. I think people who have no belief in something bigger than them are a little narrow viewed, but I sure don't bash them at every turn. What gives?

I am thinking at the moment about the difference between knowledge and belief. Many people use and misuse the expression "I know you". How can I define the information required before I can say that about a person a) legally in the UK b) in common language usage

Does the expression become null and void in law if in fact I do not legally know you, but I know you in common language usage?

She is his friend, but they dated years ago. She and her boyfriend want us all to get together for a four way if you know what I mean. They swear that nothing has happened between them. I have declined and and don't mind them being friends, but I wonder what he's thinking after his little slip up.

He is really sweet to me and good with the kids... He swears he just slipped up cause he'd hung out with her earlier that day... but WTF?! I'm really frustrated, can't help being upset, and question his integrity. I'm not sure how to handle it.

So I was attacked for being a racist because of some comments I made. Can someone please tell me if you find this racist?;

Backstory:
There are some townhouses being built up the street from me that have been causing horrible traffice jams and all kind of other crap. They've been building these things and causing problems for almost two years now. Right now they have german contracters working on them (I'm on a military base in germany)

So I said, "If they could bring in some mexicans I bet the job would be done in 6 months. They're fast and efficient workers."

So this girl jumped down my throat and said what I had said was racist and offensive, what do you think?
