Interesting question. The obvious answer is economic opportunities. I don't believe that all Muslims hate the West. Where I teach there is a large Muslim population. I certainly don't get that impression talking to them or their children. They seem grateful to be here. Glittering generalities are just that. Generalities. Don't let the radical few that dominate the headlines obscure the fact that most Muslims just want to raise their families and live peaceful lives.

For the same reasons other human beings do. Although I have different beliefs than theirs, there's nothing wrong with having good moral values.
On the other hand, I can understand where you're coming from...for example; those who watch american porn on satellite tv in the middle east, but yet they claim to hate the west for things like that. It's a double standard, isn't it? They're not all hypocrits, but certainly not all perfect either, just human, with feelings and personality flaws like everyone else.

its just the extremists who consider the west to be evil
the extremists are in a very small number
normal, moderate muslims have a somewhat neutral stance on the west and they mostly go the west for employment or education
but the recent invasions of iraq and afganistan and support of israeli army in the israel-lebanon war has infact spark alot of negative muslim sentiments around the world
and isn't that inevitable?
