I think social science makes one more aware of what the activities and values of others are. With awareness comes pressure to live up to some standard for other people. I think there are some good ideas that come from social science that can make one more aware of pitfalls of human behaviour. Intellectual understanding doesn't always translate into behaviour though. In sum, I think that social science has contributed to my understanding of my place in the world, but my behviour has remained unchanged.
