Sociology - September 2006

I've heard many comments about this topic including things like global warming, sun burning up, and such and such. But I want to know more details, because I want to know what my kids and their kids have to go through.
Now I'm going to go a "wee" bit off topic.
A long time ago, we didn't have electricity.
We had to light up candles to be able to see.
Now we have just a flick of a button then BAM the light goes on.
And even motion sensers!!!
What about in the next 100 years?
Aren't we gooing ot be fat, because if we want something we just snap our finger and next thing we know is that we have a fliet mignon dinenr in front of us???
We may never know...
but it sure its interesting.

If two teens, under 17 have sexual intercourse, is it still considered statutory rape?

I think that the 18 year old sex law is RIDICULOUS

#1 teens during puberty become physically (maybe not mentally) ready to have sexual relationships. I think as long as they are educated or given contraceptives to prevent STD's and pregnantcy they should be allowed to do what they want as they want it.

#2 In some countries teens MARRY around 14 -17 and have children. The 18YO age is merely a culture condition because elswhere it is not honored.

#3 If given the opportunity people will have sex regardless of age but, because of the fear of legal reprocussions afterwards - they attempt to cover up their actions - even if that means KILLING their lover.

#4 Cultural laws such as this are relative. If the government raised the age of consent to 25 - people would think sex among 20 year olds was wrong. Its merely a legal convienience.

GUYS... if you were 14 years old and you had a teacher like DEBRA LEFAVE (or Angelina Jolie, or EVA LONGORIA) and they propositioned you for a sexual relationship - WOULD YOU GIVE INTO HER?


I think the only female teachers that should be prosecuted are the old looking , divorcees who don't look good.

When I was in High School, I had a 25 year old English teacher who had gotten my name and phone number out the attendance roster - call me up and tell me she had a crush on me.
She wasn't attractive to me - she had huge triple D-cup pancake like breasts and her face looked mid 40's and some of her teeth were messed up.
I told her I wasn't interested but I did talk to her on the phone since when she told me she wanted to F*CK I was stunned.

Now however, I am in Grad School and I've got some HOT, KNOCKOUT desperate HOUSWIFE looking teachers.

I moved to London from L.A. 2 months ago with my parents, and I MISS THE U.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 14 so I'll be here a while....my dad signed a 5 year contract. Everything's a lot different....people don't talk nearly as much as the do in the U.S., and they do indeed love tea. They're really nice, but I still feel so homesick. What can I do?????

My initial question was why do ghetto people cuss and yell so much. Some counted me as racist. It is racist to assume all ghetto people are of one race. I don't do that. These folks are ghetto: These women were on a talk show and said they deserve more welfare, not need but deserve - That's ghetto!! Some people who live behind my home blast their TV and yell and cuss right in front of their toddler children - That's ghetto!! These kids at Wal-Mart seeing who could cuss the loudest -That's ghetto. Don't have to be from the poor side of town to be ghetto. Brandon is ghetto!!!

People seem totally panicked about nuclear power's potential to kill thousands of people if not used properly. These same people don't seem nearly as panicked with our national transportation system that actually IS killing thousands of people per year or the hundreds of coal miners that have died providing our current sources of power.

"There is a bad batch of heroin going around in Brooklyn NY" so the daily news reports.
It claimed the lives of three idividuals one lady went as far as to say
she had to warn her community . Now the problem i have is this
Isn't HEROIN bad for you anyways!!!!!?
Dont you run the risk of killing yourself when you shoot up?
How can you have a bad batch of heroin ?
