"There is a bad batch of heroin going around in Brooklyn NY" so the daily news reports.
It claimed the lives of three idividuals one lady went as far as to say
she had to warn her community . Now the problem i have is this
Isn't HEROIN bad for you anyways!!!!!?
Dont you run the risk of killing yourself when you shoot up?
How can you have a bad batch of heroin ?
Anyone been following that story in the news?

No. Morphine is the legal form. Heroin is street and cannot be trusted, ever. I don't read much about Heroin any more but since it is made by amateurs in non-sterile conditions and sometimes is cut with other chemicals by people who don't care what happens to the users (they just want a fast buck & don't care if the user dies in the process - in fact if they do that's one less person to testify against them) it's not that unusual to get a "bad batch". Yes, using heroin is like playing russian roulette with a 5 bullets in a six-shooter... or maybe even six...

Dude, there's a dozen ways to cut smack, all of 'em dangerous. If it were pure and unadulterated, it'd likely kill everyone who shot up with his usual hit - 'cause he's so used to the cut stuff, he'd overdose on what he thought was his usual dose - judged by volumne, not weight. About the only folks who don't risk an o.d. are the guys who produce it right from the raw material as it comes out of the poppy fields - they take their share before it's ever cut and know just how much will produce the desired high. It never safe to shoot up street dope. You need a high, best find another means of obtaining it. Not to be a smartaleck, but why do y'think they call it dope! Get clean and then get into competitive athletics - running can produce just as intoxicating a high as horse!

Bad Heroin means that it is a bad batch, it wasn't cooked right, so the chemical effects of it mixing with your blood can be instantly fatal. Heroin is bad always, yes, but it will only kill you slowly because of overuse.

You are right. All Heroin is bad. It is a sad commentary on our society when we refer to "bad" heroin" as that already bad drug that is further cut with something even worse.

yeah all herion is obviously bad, however some are stronger purer and more potent than other batches and addicts who are used to using less unpure stuff will end up overdosing .
