I'm doing a psycholoy research project and Im thinking of investigating whether or not people's opinions of things, e.g. films/video clips, are influenced by the opinions of people surrounding them. What do u think?

I am sure some people remember them better than others. I can usually remember the morning after but looking back I could probably only remember small fragments from just a few.

They must be important to humans being as everyone has them. But I don't understand why they are important if they aren't important enough to remember.

I have heard the theory that dreaming is a way for our brain to sort out the important and trash the unimportant info we learned in the day.

I think I just had an epiphany and noticed that only people with low intelligence complain about other people. They have nothing better to do but complain and whine about how people mistreat them. What does everyone else think?

I read an interesting quote by Eleanor Roosevelt:

"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."

mysophobia is the morbid fear of dirt or contamination.

I think that restaurants (the place where one can never be sure about how the food was made or if the dishes are really clean) can be frustrating for people with such a phobia.

If you are mysophobic or think you can relate to such a phobia, i would like to know what worries you have when you go to a restaurant. Do you have any habits to get around these worries?

For example, i know that i sometimes fear that the restaurant mugs are contaminated and so i sip from the side of the mug that a left-handed person sips from, thinking that less mouths would have touched this side.

How about you?

My younger brother was killed in a car accident on August 25th of this year. He was driving, and when the tires hit the shoulder he overcorrected and the car rolled several times...his seat belt broke and he was thrown through the windshield. He died instantly. He was only 18. I've never lost someone so close to me...there was so very much I didn't get to tell him...I just want to know....does the pain ever get easier to handle? I know I will never stop hurting...he was my only brother. I'm just hoping that someday the pain will be less sharp, less intense....or will it always hurt like this? Will I always cry at night? Help!

Do you know why we learn about them in history class? There must be a reason we learn about them. How has it effected us in the last 10 years. What does the Anasazi have to do with life today?

I know it is part of history, and it is still upsetting, but is anyone else online as awestruck by the images of that horrible day as I am? It's like I want to see it over, and over again so as not to forget how sad, angry, and appalled that someone do this to anyone. I was watching the "Today Show" when it happened, and I could not pull myself away from the television hardly at all that week. My husband worried about me being so upset, and not sleeping that whole week, because I am a "Multiple Sclerosis" patient, but I just could not turn it off. As I write this I am watching the replay of 9/11on MSNBC, and it still sends chills all over me!:( "Will you all share your thoughts tonight"?

Since I was little, my parents always put me down, underestimating me, and thus ruining my self-esteem. when I was little, I never had self confidence, thus I was always very shy and unable to speak up. But recently, it has gotten a LOT worse---I'm 16 now. Whenever I am in school, I feel like something is wrong with me, and I'm not good enough for others or that people are judging me. I always feel like I am being watched, and I can't even speak up in class. I think my grades are even dropping because of low self esteem. What do I do?

When I was little my parents had always said things like, "Maybe you're not as 'bright' as some people, but you might be able to succeed." Statements like these just made me stop trying thinking I would never succeed. My parents aren't bad--they can be very supportive in times of crisis, but they always underestimate me. How can I change my attitude?

As many of you know, today is the grieving day of many Americans.. 9-11.. Anyways, my brother was sadly killed in this disaster and today in school on the intercom our principal required every teacher to allow us to have a moment of silence. Remembering the hurtful day, I bowed my head and my teacher told me to not waste my time because I was there for school not for religion. This hurt me, and also the fact many other students in my class who wanted to.. Should I report him to the superintendent?

Like people who have a split brain, i can separate the two halves of my mind to complete to different tasks. for example, i can write my first name down with my right hand while writting my last name with me left. or switch it up to anything else, a picture and words, 2 totally different pictures, whatever. i've tried to look it up online, but all the information i find is about that ability in epilepsy patients. what could be a possible reason that i have this ability, and not an actual split-brain?

any ideas? could it be genetics?
