I am sure some people remember them better than others. I can usually remember the morning after but looking back I could probably only remember small fragments from just a few.

They must be important to humans being as everyone has them. But I don't understand why they are important if they aren't important enough to remember.

I have heard the theory that dreaming is a way for our brain to sort out the important and trash the unimportant info we learned in the day.

We only remember the dreams that have meaning. If you dont remember your dream it was just your mind blowing off steam, but if you are meant to hear a message the dream will be remembered.

think of it this way
there is a natural world out there - mountains and the sea, lions and tigers and roses and sunsets, your body your hair the look in another's eyes
and then there is the artificial overlay of religions books corporate advertising concepts and government and tribal cultural rules

With you too as a person there is your spirit and your natural body including the brain but the focus on the artificial overlay
has altered the natural programming you would exist as if you were more in alignment with the natural world in which we live

Your dreamer is more focused on the being that joined the fertilized egg that your parents provided to adventure in this world. It's agendas and intents lay in areas you seldom care about in wakened life. Possibly it is more concerned about your inner development than with that artificially-overlaid world out there.
Thus of course your dreams fade from memory
just like you wouldnt care to remember if you changed the toilet paper roll once you start bargaining with the salesman for that new car
it's a matter of focus

but I also think them important
for when life tires you
that is the realm that is your recharger

perhaps if you could learn to reconfigure your altered personality into something that better 'fit' the dreamer which, also be you, the powers of the dreamer might be yours in this consciousness too
who knows?

I even have felt the comparable yet in no way had the words. :/ L4 S4 that's so eloquent yet follows from the previous stanza, this is not unpredicted in its poignance. S5 follows superbly. something ameliorations after the advent of the daddy. i like this poem very lots you're making use of those comfortable rhymes like between and unredeemed, dressed, distressed, swirl and worldwide to super result. Bravo.

Why don't some people remember their dreams?
"The evaporation of dreams seems to be quite normal. Given the lowered level of awareness during sleep, it's understandable that memory of dreams is mediocre. Dream recall is best when people are awakened during or very soon after a dream. Most of the time, people who do recall dreams upon waking are remembering either their last dream from their final REM period or a dream that awakened them earlier in the night."

Your brain is always thinking even when you are asleep, so when your eyes are shut you begin to see every thought that passes through your mind. Your brain processes so many things, so you won't remember every dream, just like you don't remember everything a teacher has taught you. If you want to remember your dreams, then keep a journal in the morning when your mind is fresh and write them down.

dude!! that's my name and its spelt the same way...maybe ur like..my doppleganger O.O cause that's totally a subject i would pick to talk about......
anyways yeah, i have lots of dreams and i forget like most of them but i notce its the ones that have a sort of confusing and/or understandable impact on your life
such as i had a dream my sister bought a rat because she never had a pet and always wanted one. this is quite significant to me because we did actually have a pet rat but in that sense my sister always wanted a baby but never had one. so on conclusion they must only be partly remebered when in some way there's a memory or emotion thats related...hope that makes ense and helps........
but seriously...are you my doppleganger???? that scares me....
