I live with my mom, so on Sundays, she likes to go to the supermarket at 8:00 am for grocery shopping (I would go with her or do it myself, but I have no car and she insists on doing it really early). But she buys SO MUCH food. She'll buy MORE canned food even though our cabinets are in danger of collapsing due to being stuffed to capacity with canned food, and we have about 10 cans of tomato sauce on the floor. She buys 2 boxes of soy milk even though we still have 3 boxes we still need to finish. She'll buy two tubs of salad lettuce even though one tub makes enough salads for 2 weeks, and she does this every week. She buys 5 small boxes of mini tomatos even though two boxes would last a week. We have 6 cereals because she buys more even though we already have plenty. She'll buy 3 packages of sliced apples, even though one will take a week to finish. Our frozen dinners have overstuffed our freezer, yet she buys more each time.

Im kinda really sick of all the jokes that suround me. Just about everytime I comment on something, Its like Ive spoken the unspeakable. Im pretty sure some people think it but just dont say it (out loud). Im not talking about hurting peoples feelings. Im talking more along the lines of pointing out stupidity. For example.... my kids school has two one way lanes to pick up and drop off. These idiots! sorry but seriously. They are so inpatieint that instead of waiting minutes they drive up the fire lane where all the kids are walking out of school. Ive even seen them back out over the sidewalk where kids are crossed by the CHILDREN crossing gaurds. This is just one example. It just makes me sick. Ive went to the police station and I was told "3:00 is our shift change". So apparently at 3 o'clock I can go rob a bank because there are no police officeres available!!GRRRRR

I hate politics and philosophy and I have absolutely no desire to think about these things. I jsut wanna do waht everyone else does but instead I'm constantly distracted by all this crap in my head.
How do I distance myself from all this useless thinking and go on with my life?

religious?
What would you say if you couldn't use the 'God has a plan for you, it's a sin' argument?

Convince someone to live, who has no sentiment toward religion and whose social life is completely empty? You can't use the 'people will miss' you thing...because 1) no one would and 2) I don't think I care anymore anyway.

It's hard to want to sit around and wait for things to 'get better' when you know you brought all of it about yourself. And it's almost impossible to give a **** if you're being selfish when that's all you seen out of other people.

Wacked out homeless people (not their fault, of course). Depressed people. Obsessive compulsives. Borderline Personality Disorder. Psychopathic serial killers. Predatory gangs. Rapists. Pedophiles. Wacked out celebrities. Ann Coulter. (she should be committed to a mental hospital. Instead she's always popping up on cable TV). Even one of the astronauts has a screw loose. What is it about us (the USA)?
Breakdown of the family? High stress? Economic dislocation?
Excessive competition?

That's what I remember about my dreams - the pure, strong emotion. The highs are very high, and the lows are very low.

Bliss, contentment, love, sadness, regret, loss.

I'm sort of grateful I don't feel these things so much in my waking life. It would upset the routine.

Or is this a sign that something's wrong?

Whatever you define as 'work'-- it may not just be your occupation -- does it take re-wiring to get pleasure from work as a masochist, or are people talking about something else when they say "I love my job" (aren't you kidding yourself)?

Kids today are put through exam after exam, comparison after comparison, hurdle after hurdle. This starts at a very early age with tests.

I've noticed now, how many kids are actually on medication for stress. How many kids are depressed in their teen years? All these goths and emos who feel they need to take on the emotional burden of an adult without the life experience to compare it with.

So is life more stressful for kids now? Or is it just as it has always been?

Is there a solution?

I was on vacation and my ex happen to be there also. He hugged me and apologized for what he did to me and we made ammends. WE spent the rest of the vacation together.
In reality and broke up with me and hurt me very badly. There are things we said and he did that can never be taken back so to speak, and I have a lot of resentment towards him. If it were up to me, we would be friends, but I forgfave him the first time for what he did and he walked all over that too.

Alcohol can have a profound effect on a person's functioning, but is it possible that, especially in party settings, people only "act" drunk or drunker to match other's expectations of being drunk?

A teacher who understands a lot of psychology materials, but he is really fat with a huge stomach. My question is that if he is so good in psychology then he should have a really good ability to solve problems and he should know how to overcome his Ego, then why is he still so fast for many years already? He should has understand that his huge stomach is bad for his health and inconvenience because a pregnant woman only has to carry that big stomach for 10 months but he has to carry it for the rest of his life. In addition, this may affect his self esteem too. Isn’t that the purpose of psychology is to understand oneself and others and to improve one ability to survive in this imperfect society or world? Unless he has some kind of illness, otherwise he should know how to value his health. What is your opinion on this topic? ^_^
