John Nash suffered from schizophrenia. Ernest Hemingway suffered from severe depression. Issac Newton suffered from bipolar disorder. Van Gogh also suffered from bipolar disorder. Sylvia Plath suffered from severe depression as well as Virginia Woolf. All of these people were brilliant in their own rights. Is it safe to say that the smarter and more creative you are, the more likely you are to suffer from a mental illness?

I ask this because a friend and I were discussing this topic the other day, and she seems to think that my personality disorder is caused my high intelligence.

For the better part of the past ten years, I have been attempting to attract the interests of women by improving myself in ways to bring myself closer to what women CLAIM to find attractive in a man, and what they ACTUALLY find attractive (these are apparently different).

I have read many of the various dating guides, observed how successful guys behave in bars/clubs, and made every other attempt to determine what women desire so that I might fulfill this desire.

Despite this, I have been largely unsuccessful in attracting the interests of a woman. Over the years, I have succeeded in finding a few female friends, but they were never interested in being anything more then friends, and on very few (2) occasions have managed to find girls who were desperate enough to sleep with me for a single evening, and the last of these was over three years ago.

Despite my attempts to improve my personality, and appearance, I am admittedly quite ugly.

If someone puts a gun up to me, when i am alone outside and the person tells me to get in the car what do I do? my mom always told me "you let the person shoot you because someone will hear and help you" but i think it would be more likely that people would run for cover. My mom is the only person who would actually answer me...ive asked my therapist and friends and stuff and everyone thinks its absolutley ridiculouis and paronoid of me to ask such a thing. I just hate not knowing what to do should it happen and if i did what my mom says to let the person shoot me, id get shot, then probably taken with the person in the car and god knows what else would happen and then id never be seen again...but if i agree to go in the car the same thing would happen. are there any other options??

What is the most important thing you have ever learned about life? How old were you when you learned this lesson? How did you learn it? Who did you learn it from? Why is it important?

I am a teen and I want to know more about life.

If I read about someone in the newspaper being raped or murdered it shocks me or saddens me and then I wonder why such a thing has to happen and I wish that things could be different. I want to change things. But I know people that will be saddened or shocked but move on with life. I eventually move on myself but I always feel like I wish that I could help to change these things. And Is it wrong to want someone that loves you for who you are and not just a body part? People think that I am asexual or something because I don't believe that sex is the most important thing in life and that I'd rather get to know someone. I'd rather have a complete person.

Whats the technical term for a person who has problems understanding other peoples problems.its hard to explain.its a bit more complicated than that so i will give you an example.i read about it in a book and have forgotten the term.say for instance a daughter has problems with depression and her mother cant see whats wrong.not in a superficial way but actually cant see past their own mood.if the mother is in good form and sees her daughter in a bad mood she cant understand why.almost as if the mothers the only ones whos mood matters.she thinks if she is in a good mood so must everyone else and if she is in a bad mood she wont tolerate people being in a good mood cause she cant actually differentiate between herself and others emotions.not in a deliberate way either.its almost like a baby before they turn 2 they cant tell the difference between themselves and the outer world hence the terrible twos when they realise things outside them are independant of themselves.anyone know the term

Be fore you answer this please read this thought first. What if every person woke up one morning and said I am not going to harm any one any more. All the solders just laid down their weponse and said you can't make me use this object to do harm any more. All the gang members said I am not going to mark my teratory or do harm to any one ever again. The solution is so simple in thought but so hard to creat, yet war and bodly harm is so hard on every yet so easy to creat. Can you imagin if every person just woke up one morning and was all on the same page what the out come of peace would be like? I can visualize it so easly in my mind yet can't grasp the reality as ever hapening. So why is it so hard to creat some thing so simple? Yet it is so easy to put in to afect some thing that is hard. I know the answer but you must realize it for your self for it to ever change to the thought of peace being so simple. Listen to the words of a song that John Lenon wrote caled (Imagin).

in my dream, I was at a local high school, for a school function... a play or something. I was sitting there watching it when this guy from my class came up and told me that this guy I'm obsessed with wanted to go out with me, and if I would accept if he asked me out. of course I said yes, but in the end he changed his mind. what does this signify?
