I feel like I'm always saying the wrong things with my friends, and recently on a website I accidentally didn't follow the rules and they gave me a very sharp talking-to. I just feel totally ruined and worthless (the fact that one of my best poems was ruthlessly criticized didn't help) and I don't have depression. Any suggestions on cheering me up? (Please don't suggest online jokes. I hate those - they never make me laugh.)

You will agree with me: it is necessary to be loved. It is not good to be neglected by a parent figure, nor is it good to be excessively nurtured. Since I was a kid I never really liked physical contact. My mom kissed me and hugged me and told me I was handsome every single day. I grew to despise this, and I hate physical contact and I do not feel handsome. This is probably because I feel she over approves of me, and even if I sneeze I will be praised. I am not valued properly, perhaps?

I know people are not loved by their parents or do not have parents. But nothing to it's extreme is good.

Now, is excessive nurturing bad? I attribute the cause maybe to the fact of being neglected as kids. My mom had lost her dad very young and her mom worked every day, and she was very cold.

what do you guys think?

Should I tell her why it's important for her to be immunized and risk that she might think that I approve of her becoming sexually active? Which I don't?
Should I ask a doctor to immunize her and tell her that it's something else, like B12 injection, etc.?
She's 13 and not sexually active. As a parent, I'd like to keep it that way as long as possible.
Don't misunderstand. We have discussed sex and love.

Being someone who cares about people, their feelings, and their well-being? Why should I love anyone? I always get hurt in the end and everyone who said "I'll be there.." left.

I start at 6:10, going through to 7:10, every 5 minutes.
The trouble is, once you get locked in a pattern, its very hard to break the habit.

I am full blown irish decent, and I am in a relationship now, The longest, 7 months. HA, Im a very attractive person, but I have always wondered why it is that I don't tell anyone my issues and am very stubborn. The second an issue arises in a relationship, I back out. I don't feel like talking out my issues. I rather not face the music, And easily move on to someone else. But this man has the patience to deal with me , And every time I push him away he knows that's not what I want. Please help me understand why I give up what's precious and have committment issues....Seriously because im irish? Please give me this philosophy, I dont need answers to my drama, but the logic behind irish decent & Freud.

It doesn't make sense to me that they would be.

Or maybe people just take them too far.

People keep telling me I'm 'so INTJ' and I've tested as that a couple times, but I want to know if that means anything and if people in the actual field of psychology actually give it any credence.

i am in college and need a research paper topic.

i love psychology, but i have no idea where to even begin when looking for potential topics because i am interested in just about everything concerning this area.

i have to prove something (i.e.: why i believe something is right/wrong) so i can't just simply explain the history of a topic.

i was wondering if anyone had any interesting topics they feel strongly about that relate to psychology? i just need help getting started!

thanks
