In my opinion, you should first ask yourself what is your own definition of being successful?

This is very important as a lot of people get sucked up to what the society at large defines as being successful which normally is associated with lots of money, lots of assets, big cars, big houses etc.

The truth is success is very much an individual concept. There are a lot of people who are sucessful despite not having all of the items that society thinks as being the signs of success.

For example, a pair of poor parents is successful if they can raise their children to be good human beings i.e. educated, independent, contributing to society at large etc.

Therefore, the answer to your question is firstly yes, you can be successful in life. All you have to do is break down the goals and aims that you have to small pieces and work hard towards achieving them. Once you have achieved them, technically you have been successful. As life is a long process, as long as you continue to break up the goals and achieve them, you will be continuously successful in life.

Good luck

Success means a different thing to each one of us.
Firstly decide what success means to you personally.
Then decide what must be done to achieve your kind of success.
Then examine your own knowledge and talents.
Then formulate a plan of action to achieve your type of success utilising your knowledge and talents.
An example: You want to become a millionaire.
What you do:
1.Go and get yourself a job.
2.Study economics and statistics
3.Invest your earnings in either property or the stock market or
other high yielding investments
4. Watch your investments and make corrections if they don't yield the expected return.
Keep doing this until you have $1,000,000.

Educate yourself to be a well-rounded person. Know something about everything, and know a great deal about one or two particular things in areas where you might want to work.

If you have any problems with self-esteem, self-confidence, anxiety, depression, etc., get some help for them--before they grow and interfere with any success that may come your way. The same goes for any physical ailments--take care of them right away.

Eating right and getting enough fresh air and exercise will do your mind and body a lot of good. Getting drunk and smoking crack, etc. will do your mind and body a lot of bad.

Know how to treat people. If you expect respect, give respect. Give credit where credit is due. Learn to be empathetic toward people with problems. In other words, learn to be a good, sincere person.

Take responsibility for any mistakes you make--don't make anyone else take the rap for you--that will turn around and bite you in the @ $s.
