i am in college and need a research paper topic.

i love psychology, but i have no idea where to even begin when looking for potential topics because i am interested in just about everything concerning this area.

i have to prove something (i.e.: why i believe something is right/wrong) so i can't just simply explain the history of a topic.

i was wondering if anyone had any interesting topics they feel strongly about that relate to psychology? i just need help getting started!

thanks

Fear of the unknown is a good one (for seniors) They are embarking on something they've never done before -- leaving childhood behind and becoming adults. Their safety net is gone or nearly gone (depending upon how close they are to mom and dad and about how much they can help. Sex is always something teens think about. How about the "herd" mentality? I made that up, but maybe that's the name for it, I don't know. In high school and even in junior high, the kids want to follow "the herd". They want to be like everyone else. How pathetic! They should be encouraged to become individuals, not like everyone else! A question you can ask yourself and try to find an answer to is this: What do teens fear if they are not like everyone else? Are they afraid no one will like them? If the other kids don't like them because they don't follow after the leader, then why is that? Why do kids needs to "group"? Why can't they become individuals? What happens to them if they take another "path?" Do they become ostracized? And if so, why?

Nature vs. Nurture. My friend who was adopted proved some very interesting things on this topic to me.
