I believe lying occurs when someone states something contrary to what they believe i.e., there is a strong component of intent when it comes to lies. My wife uses the word more readily - she says someone is lying the moment it is not the "truth". She believes in the concept of absolute truth that everyone "can see". So in her version, there are no gray areas - it is either a fact or not.

Now the question I have, is how do I relate to her? How do I convince her that the world is full of grays, relativistic perspectives and no absolute truths?

do you believe that emotions make humans weaker,or do you believe that emotions make you stronger??
emotions like lust or being disgusted can lead you down the wrong path. Plus too much pride is what messes you up at times. You donut think clearly when your mad/ And some people kill themselves because they're sad.

if you know anything about the afterlife can you pls explain this to me....

The other night i was visitng my mum and we were having a few drinks....only a few so i know that wasn't to blame. We were just chatting about normal stuff when behind my mum a saw what looked to be a reflection of a watch ( you know like the ones you make on the wall ) on the curtain. It was wizzing aroud very fast, to be honest at the time i didnt thik that much of it as there were a few lights ect on. I didnt say anything to my mum, i just got up and turned the lights off (apart from the main one ) then i sat back down and it was still there ( all this time my mums back was to it )... my mum then asked what i was staring at and i said " a reflection behind you" She then said "yes i can feel a presence behind me" when she turned arond it went. After that a was kinda spooked but thought never mind just have another wine...about an hour later it came back and my mum saw it this time but it wasnt moving??????

We all have different preferences as far as who we are attracted to. And as adults we have the ability to look beyond the physical and see inner beauty, and this can make someone considered to be beautiful. But I once saw an experiment done where they put groups of babies in front of a screen and showed them faces of different people. Some were people who society would consider attractive, others were plain, and even others were disfigured. The outcome of the experiment, was that the babies enjoyed looking more at the faces of the "attractive" people, and their attention held longer toward them ,than the plain and disfigured people. Do you think that we are all actually born finding certain physical attributes in people more appealing than others? I just thought this was interesting.

So, this morning I woke up and realized I had the oddest dream:

A woman, a stranger to me, is seated on a bus next to me. She tells me what town she lives in, and I explain, that i used to live there to. Finally, I realize that she is the current resident of the house I used to share with my (ex) partner. A house I truly wish to reclaim someday as my own. Then she says, "Have you seen my tattoo?"
"No", I answered.

She lifts her left arm up and pulls down her sleeve to reveal that tattoo. Written across her wrist is the word "Incurable"

Any ideas?

Do you believe that by changing your thought to what you want to what you don't want will change your life completely and allow you to accomplish any goal that you may have?

I have read the book "The Secret" and decided i was going to put it to the test today. They tell you to start small and to envision something you want to happen. To take negativity a turn it into the positive. I chose to play the lottery with the intentions of winning...even just a small amount. The whole time i told myself i was going to win. Though i only won $10, i still won. Do you think positive thinking can bring forth positive lifestyle? For example, one of the teachers in the book started small and tried saying he was going to find a great parking space that day, which anyone who lives in a city knows is a tough thing to do.

What do you think?

I'm still trying to get over an 18-year marriage to a man with BPD and I'm interested in other women's experiences and what they went through, did about it and so on. Sometimes I feel like the only person who has had this happen. It has destroyed my self-esteem and sometimes I wonder if I will ever be okay.

I've heard that many people who have seen the film documentary "The Secret" or who have heard of the Law of Attraction, have begun to experience amazing things in their life. If you have any testimony to this, please share. :)

It's as if it's white of me to have a voracity for knowledge. My black coworkers certainly don't gravitate around me; only a couple of them hang around me regularly. It's as if it's crime to have knowledge. I am the only one who just happens to have attended a catholic school, has parents who taught and attened grad school who had me, the first born at 36. I want a transcend from the restaurant. They're content with a teen pregnancy, having 4 generations within 50 years, being on welfare and drugs and continuous fatherless homes. There is no one there with whom I could even mention the name Malcom Little because they only know him as Malcolm X. Those people don't even know that Jaz-y's real name is Shawn Cory Carter yet they love rap.
I don't show off; I just read my magazines; it's just that these people don't even get to know a person---just judge on the outside. I love getting to know people. It's just due to stress and the effects of a medication I took for my epilepsy in '04.
