Thanks for warning, Circle_sq...
Perhaps I should have used the word 'romantic' instead of 'legitimate'

I believe your question is more philisophical than scientific- what is your definition of legitimate love? How many types do you believe exist?

All people tend to have varying views, depending on their previous experiences- someone who has repeated heartbreak tends to have much more pessimistic views than one who has found the love of his/her life.

There has been scientific evidence supporting a certain chemical balance in the brain that sets off romantic emotion... and there are limitless poems that exist to love's intangible stranglehold on our psyche- all in all, I believe that a satisfactory answer to your question is out of reach due to both the nature of love and the large difference in opinion.

Personally, I like to think that all romantic relationships exist when couples are willing to give 100% to each other there is no "portion" per se since the relationship encompasses everything you mentioned.

As for how it feels... well, that's pretty abstract- you gotta figure it out for yourself.

Ever heard the cliche "Words can not describe it?"... the moment we sum it up we lose the feeling to words.... just enjoy the feeling
