Wow, your not alone, and I have a best friend who is dependent on not just zodiac but fortune tellers. Those who read palms, and tea leaves, or use a 8 ball toy. This is AI} Artificial Intelligence. Also refer ed to as dumb-luck.
Religion is based more on faith and a bases to better yourself, or the world somehow. I know you didn't want to hear that. But, have you tried to pray to stop depending on the zodiac? I can assure you it is more reliable than tea leaves etc. You can't use the zodiac to get off zodiac.
Numerology and all the other items listed above in A I are too shallow, try applying deeper meaning to your life.
Why does believing in God offend you?

You need to remember that horoscopes are very generalized--they could fit into anyone's life in almost all cases. You can kick this--just like people can kick alcohol or crack!
People become addicted to things like Bingo, for gosh sakes--can't you see how ridiculous that is? Many of us just have addictive personalities--if we don't do booze or drugs, we find something else to become addicted to.
It might be time that you took up a constructive hobby--sewing, knitting, putting cars or planes together, writing, art, etc. There are even classes for some things like these at most community colleges. You could take up cooking, or baking, or candy-making at a community college.
If you simply can't let go of the zodiac--find out (from your local emergency room) where the closest free or sliding-scale mental health clinic is. Having a professional to talk to about this will help. You can also help yourself--the library is full of self-help books--and many of them deal with breaking bad habits.
I wish you well--remember that nothing done to excess is good for anyone.

The Zodiacs in magazines, books, newspapers, internet are all false. All Zodiac sings say the same thing in different words. Just check it out. They say the different things which will obviously occure in your life and you (the reader) will of course interpret what they say into your life and agree with it. Read the rest and you will see that 95% of the rest will also happen to you. Astrology is an amazing science but many people just earn money off it. Easy Money. It's like you don't have a mind of your own to decide what will happen or what you want to happen. You do what THEY tell you... Stop reading it or at least stop believing it... Just do what you want and stop being paranoid with what you just read and expecting something to happen just because someone, that gets paid to write crap, tells you to.

What about it is addictive? Are you just reading it every day, or is it that you can't do anything until you read it. If it's the former then I say don't sweat it. Read it and don't worry about it. However, if you put a lot of stock into what is prognosticated, then I say read it for fun and not a method by which you plan your life. It's someones best guess as to what the aligning of the heavenly bodies might mean. Read'em, but plan your life by your religion/beliefs and circumstances

I would suggest reading a book that would be influential to you that is not at all related to the zodiac. Find a topic you're interested in learning about. Take the focus off what you are trying to get away from!
I've read horoscopes before but only to see, or for fun, not to let it influence my life. Sorry I can't be of more help.
