And even my grandmother made the jump before me but when it came to my turn to jump into the water I jumped and never felt the water. I was falling and falling and I had to keep taking new breaths because I didn't hit the water yet. So after some time I gave up on taking in new breaths and looked around to see that I had landed on top of the water and was floating on some sort of a film that was protecting me from drowning. It was just so very odd.
Prior to this part of my dream I was meeting with old co-workers and catching up with all their news. (real people I have worked with in the past) Then it went into this water scene.

Based on his theory of heirarchy of needs, why then would someone stay in an abusive relationship when the need for safety should outweigh the need for love? Or similarly, why would someone skydive, or why do people try to attain higher states of awareness through self-deprivation? How or why can someone jump up the pyramid without fulfilling baser needs?

I'm pretty shy and I'm moving out of this comfort zone of a few good friends and my parents care into a city where I don't know a single person. I'm scared that I'm gonna become a hermit and spend my time at university alone. People seem to want to talk to me but when they do I've got no idea of what to say, I stutter and play with my hands and my voice becomes strained (that's the worst part!), I feel as though I'm driving potential friends away by making them think that I don't want to talk to them.
I know there's no quick solution but if anybodys gone through the same thing or knows any lil tricks to play in my head to stop me from being so bloody shy I'd love to hear it! Even if someone said I'm being stupid and that uni isn't that bad, that'd be good.

Cheers

Personally, I don't. When I was growing up, spanking was the primary disciplinary method, and it didn't make me follow the rules, it made me subvert them.

Now that this coocoo astronaut lady has been arrested for attempted everything, do you think more people will be interested in becoming one? It shows that they're not just a bunch of nerds.

about their father? He cheated on me several times, he is not abiding by our legal settlement and lately I feel like I need to defend myself. I had to go to court again and as soon as he gets served the papers he calls my 16 year old to tell her that I'm suing him. We've been divorced for 11 years and now that they are teenagers the questions are getting harder to answer without laying it all out on the table. When should they know, if ever? Will it just screw them up to know the truth?

Who got themselves in a marriage, set children into the world and made everything solid calculateing all this for a certain reason (besides love) For example not haveing to work, "chaining" the partner to yourself, makeing somebody else jealous, planning to rip the other off .... and so on. I mean all the true reasons behind cheating yourself with this "But I DO love him/ her!"-crap.

I had the perfect job, so I thought then the bottom fell out and they didn't give me a raise or vacation among many other factors. The job that I thought was perfect was not so I took another job and am working out my two weeks. I have been tired lately, and very irritable and moody, and when I wake up in the morning I really don't feel like getting up. Is this situational depression and will pass once I am out of this hell hole, or am I depressed and need medication? Should I give it time and see if it will pass? I had planned on working this job indefintely then it all went to crap. To top it off.... They put an ad in the paper for my replacement offering them a dollar more an hour than I make!

p.s. I'm only considering, it's not really a passion...

I don't know what catagory this should be in--so put it here as it sure "played" with my mind! As a teenager, my family and freinds played this. Set up a light folding card table; four people stand around it, placing our hands softly, flat on the surface of the table. Then chant "Rise table, rise" over and over again. Suddenly it started raising up on two legs! No one was pushing down on any side, as we soon were able to move our hands on the "up" side and it still continued to tap out answers to our questions--one tap, yes; two taps, no. The answers were amazingly accurate and later, only one person could remain in contact with the table. This went on all evening, and as if it were tired, it finally started "tap-walking" it's way to the front door and STOPPED for the evening. We all were so spooked my folks never tried it again. I've never asked friends to try it, so I never have since that. If you've experienced this, please write--or if you have some educated guesses...
