I would say look at the genes involved. Most likely the black parent's parents were both black with dark hair, eyes and skin. The white parent's parents could be blonde, red, brown or black haired with blue, green, brown eyes, etc. So, the black genes are probably dominant. It's not always the case though, my nephew is bi-racial and has curly but light colored hair and medium skin tone.

Because the traits of the white such as blue eyes and blonde hair is recessive. White skin is more sensitive and burns easily with exposure to the sun. That's why it's important to choose your life mate carefully to improve the quality of your offspring. That is if you want them to get an equal footing in life. Or to
basically give them a good chance in this capitalistic world!
Although, black curly hair, brown eyes and skin is not bad. You might call it genetic engineering. Products of inbreeding are more defective. Crisis Identity? Let's face it! Be realistic! There are plus and minuses to every race!
There will always be prejudice and stereotypes in this world. Do you know that with hybrids, the immune system is made; much stronger?
Recessive diseases relevant to each race are practically eradicated. A cross-breed or hybrid is much more beautiful and more intelligent.
and more............. resilient.
The dream of Hitler for a superior race and the tendency of the New World to eradicate inferior races are not plausible.
Color is more appreciative both in life and art.
Life is not anymore a simple case of black or white. Besides, white is not a color. It's an absence of color! Moreover, Blood is red.! Sh@t is brown.! So, the ultimate question, is how brown do you want these statements to be?

I have to think that it may have something to do with stronger genes. Although there are many biracial children that come out looking totally white.
I think it may depend on how "black" the person is. Many black people are mixed with somthing or the other, at least all the ones I know are.
Plus haven't you seen green eyes and hazel eyes and many different shades of caramel running all the way over to ghost white?

I think that black is a very strong race. The genes are powerful because of the race's origins, in order to survive weather, geographic conditions, etc. My son is white and his skin has a very light complexion, he married a black girl with very dark skin and my granddaughter is almost white with a beautiful tanned skin and beautiful straight hair. They are now expecting their second child and we all know it may come out either dark skinned or just like their first child. We will see.

Indeed the melanic (black) gene is stronger than its white skin counterpart, because thhe white gene is recessive. It's also why brown eyes are more common than blue - in nature, the darker, the stronger.

My daughter married a European American and she is a
bi-racial American. My granddaughter 7 is very light brown skinned , brown eyes, with beautiful long wavy dark brown hair. My grandson 4 is very fair, blue eyes, with blond curly hair. They look like twins but are different colours. Beautiful children. Go figure

i actually don't think the child favors either. my friend's baby's biracial and she's the exact mixture of their skintones, she's not dark nor light she's medium. and her eyes are light brown and her hair is not straight or really curly but kind of wavy. therefore i don't think the genes favor anybody but they make a perfect mixture of both.
