I've been kind of interested in being a phycologist but I hear that a lot of them become crazy themselves because of all the problems they have to hear. I just wanted to know what you thought about it.
p.s. I'm only considering, it's not really a passion...

Well, I have never heard of a phycologist. I am assuming you meant psychologist...the study of the human brain/mind. And, they say that they are crazy not because they help people with problems but they chose this field because they had problems to begin with...that's what they say anyway, as a psychology major.

Did you mean psychologist ?

There is a big need out there with all the child abuse, depression, and other problems. I would like to see a time when getting an annual mental checkup is as common as a physical or dental checkup.

They don't go crazy, but they do need to have someone to talk to also.

Yes, become a psychologist (check YOUR spelling). It's an admirable profession. And more importantly, once you earn your degree, you can come back here to Yahoo Q&A and help us with all of our problems! (lol)
Whatever you do, best wishes to you, Giambi!

I think you should follow your heart and do what inspires you. If it is not a passion it will feel like work. Why waste so much of your life doing something that does not make you happy?
