And even my grandmother made the jump before me but when it came to my turn to jump into the water I jumped and never felt the water. I was falling and falling and I had to keep taking new breaths because I didn't hit the water yet. So after some time I gave up on taking in new breaths and looked around to see that I had landed on top of the water and was floating on some sort of a film that was protecting me from drowning. It was just so very odd.
Prior to this part of my dream I was meeting with old co-workers and catching up with all their news. (real people I have worked with in the past) Then it went into this water scene.

check out 'water in dreams'

This is a common dream which usually represents underlying fears and feelings of inadequacy and helplessness. Interpret your dream by considering your primary fears, current difficulties, and situations in your life that seem to be on a downward spiral, especially those situations that seem outside of your control (financial, romantic, etc)

Perhaps you have a decision to make and you feel like it is a bit risky or there is much unknown. Water is the symbol of emotions; jumping off a cliff would be taking a risk and going into the unknown. Flying could indicate a substantial amount of success can be gained by taking the risk.

It sounds like you are scared of making a big change in your life.. This is probably something others have done ahead of you-could it be moving to a distant location? But you notice you were caught up and did not drown this perhaps means that you have planned for a future and are solvent or it means you know you can get by on less than you thought. Either way you literally had a safety net.

It could be anything! Cryptic dreams like that have a lot of symbolism that can be hard to identify. Just try and decide what the key symbols in your dream were (like falling and floating) and then look them up in a Dream dictionary. There are several available online.

Water in dreams often represents emotion. Perhaps the fact that your family is in the water and you can't get to it means that you are preventing yourself from feeling something in relation to them.

Definitely time to change the sheets. And possibly turn the mattress too.
