Ok. I have spent all my life in a house with a depressed mother and abusive father. At school, everyone picked on me and beat me up. So, naturally, I tried to grow up.

I am now 12 and have the intellegnce of a 23-year-old. My parents are getting divorced and I'm at a new school. Problem is, it's really hard for me to be a kid and do kid things with my new friends. I also have a hard time trusting people. How can I reclaim my childhood before it's too late?

When I see any person who is physical disable than I feel him. Sometimes I think if I can take him to my house and look after him than I would be very happy. But I can't. When I see a rich person tortures a poor than I become dishearted but nothing to do. In the past I protested some cases. As a result I have been looser.

Ok don't get the wrong impression, my GPA currently stands at 4.2. The reason why I'm interested in focusing skills is because sometimes I waste a lot of time and get side tracked on things like instant messanger and my space. If I could find a way to make myself focus on the task at hand better, I think I would have more of a life, because it seems like all my life consists of now is homework. I want to beable to get my homework done quickly, so I have more time for hobbys and getting together with friends. ^_^

What is the term for an overprotective parent that constantly thinks her son/daughter is "out-of-control" or "mentally ill," just b/c her child is misbehaving in normal typical ways that children tend to misbehave? For example, thinking that her daughter has a "mental disorder" simply b/c the daughter has mood swings at puberty?(you get the idea) I have a friend who was actually taken to a SHRINK by her strict parents, b/c they were convinced that her acting like a "normal college kid" was "abnormal"...just to be told by the shrink that she was indeed a perfectly normal, career-focused young girl!(even a shrink didn't find anything wrong with the girl!) Could it be possible that the parents have a disorder? Is this just simple paranoia or overprotectiveness, or could this be something far worse? NOTE: I don't think my friend's parents WANT their daughter to be "insane," but I think they'd rather think she is "insane" than accept that dating & drinking are "normal" parts of college life

i think i might have social anxiety disorder or something..
I get really nervous around large crowds in a loud hallway (especially in school)
Talking to guys i like is soo hard! I worry over basicly everything.. And find every reason to worry.. And then i have to calm myself down..
I always feel like people are watching me..
Today i had excessive sweaty palms..
I pretty much feel really uncomfortable in any place but my house and its annoying..
Is there anything i can do to stop being so self-conscience and scared of everything? I sometimes get so emotional i cry over something minor.. Im only 15, please help
Other days.. im more laid-back and laugh over everything.. I just hate these emotion-swings and phobias..

I am turning 40 soon and I must say I have lots of regrets. Marriage, Children, leaving the service too soon, not obtaing my college degree. Not waiting to Fall in Love. The song on repeat that plays in my head is, "If I had known then, what I know now." Speak to me people, let me know I am not alone.

Have people been watching Dateline's "To Catch A Predetor"? It's just amazing to me the constant flow of men that seem to lose all common sense in the seach of sex.... and in these cases, with children! It's become too much of a regular thing in our world today to not question otherwise normal men for making these kind of choices and some how ignoring what is right and wrong. It's like they get an erection and lose a "brain"! Any doctors care to address this one?

What is the right psychology term to describe this? Imagine a person who is very passive/unassertive, and lets himself get taken advantage of, used, or disrespected. He is aware of it, but is too nice or unassertive to speak up about it. He bottles his true feelings about it for a period of time, until he cannot take it any longer and has an aggressive outburst. Usually the person's aggression will be a "delayed reaction" to something that happened a little while back, which he'd never reacted to but now highly regrets having been taken advantage of. This is similar to Jim Carey's character in "Me Myself & Irene" but not as severe...no split personalities involved. My friend says it is "passive-aggressive," but I thought that was something different. I'm talking about someone who bottles up their anger/resentment, and the longer that the anger is bottled up and/or the disrespect is tolerated, the more amplified the outburst is later on. Is there a term for this "abnormality"?

Are we just living in the after-life and when you die is that when you are born so the after-life is really our life and our life is really our after-life but if our life is really our after-life and our after-life is really our life wouldn't that make our after-life our before-life???

Seriously, I saw one of my neighbors at Blockbuster today with her kid and said "hello" and she looked at me like if I grew a second head.

I just don't get it. Some of the best things in my life I've learned from strangers like fast, legal money. :)

My friend and her mom don't get along too well. My friend has her moments like anyone, but is a normal sane person. For quite a few years now, my friend's mom is convinced that my friend is "psycho" and has something "wrong with her."(in reality, my friend went thru the rebellious stage that most teens go thru...I don't think her mom understood that completely, since she is a very strict parent) She kept telling my friend she needed counsellingIt got weirder and weirder. One day, my friend's mom tried to convince her that every memory she'd ever spoken of, was a figment of her imagination. My friend's mom even went so far as to attempt to convince her daughter that various relatives and real-life people never existed, and only existed in the daughter's head!(my friend's mom was lying) Why would her mom do that? Isn't there a disorder where parents try to convince others that their children are ill? Does this "disorder" apply to convincing others that their children are MENTALLY ill too
