From studying many people and many cultures. We all have similar problems plus they can spot a psycho. You seem irritated by psychiatry today. Leave an incompetent if you feel you should. Your gut instinct is just as important as any doctor's diploma!!!

First of all, you have to understand that psychologists are also human and they make mistakes lake a surgeon in a operation table. You would like to think they are perfect, but they are not.
Now, we are trained to be able to understand what a client is going through, it is an extensive training, one prove of that is that psychologists have the 2nd hight suicide rate of all professions (a psychologist will "enter" your wold).
Further more, some times the clients will feel like the psychologist doesn't understands her/him, but that is also a defense mechanism, she/he is looking for approval and a good psychologist will never give that. This makes he client unsecure and convinced that she/he that therapy doesn't work.

I agree with urtelnme. I'd add that one writer said she had to go to at least 5 psychologists before she found the right fit.
