I have these dreams almost every night. Some times I give in willingly and other times not so. Plus the people in my dreams are people that are very close. What does this mean?

I have been on a self improvement journey for 2 or so years. I have realized my unhealthy behaviors and have been working intensely to re-program my self. And it seems the more I fix or overcome the worse people are. I stopped my deceptive acts which include lying, secrets, etc. This was a hard one considering I was border line pathological. I found the root, admitted the lies to my self as well as the ones I lied too. It has been over a year with no secrets or lies. My question is : why now after I ceased this behavior, is every one in my inner circle attacking me with accusations. I do not understand why I am being punished for the things I didn't do. These people have been close to me for 10 + years. They seem to be ganging up and not in the intervention kind of way. Any ideas on what I do?

Personally, I breifly went to a psychiatrist for depression and didn't feel like she helped me. All she was interested in was prescribing me drugs, which didn't mix well with me, and she didn't seem interested in understanding my way of thinking.

What did you gain from your experience?

I stumbled on to an article explaining that cognitive skills are skills requiring thinking, problem solving, etc. and "metacognitive" skills are skills involved in evaluating cognitive skills. So assembling a jigsaw puzzle might be a congnitive but judging how good someone is at assembling jigsaw puzzles is a metacognitive skill.
The author's point was that there is a high correlation betwnn cognitive skills and metacognitive skills.

What this means is that people are not good at something are also not very good at realizing that they are not very good at it. This means that relying on anyone's self-evaluation of their skills is a big mistake. Suppose there's some skill that could be rated 0 to 100. If someone is a 90 they will probably accurately assess their self as a 90, but if someone is 40 they might assess their self as a 90. So when you see a self-assessment of 90 it tells you nothing.

Thoughts?

... I First saw (the man I was to fall in love with ) rising from a calm pool of water. In the background there was a mural of a "Titanic-looking" ship painted on the wall.

As he was rising (slowly) from the pool of water, --when he looked at me he smiled. It was a very peaceful smile.

What could this dream have meant, if anything?

Okay! I'm presently in College in my first year as a RN student. Bottom line... I HATE IT! I hate school, I hate the classes, I even hate the people! I only went into nursing for the $ and to make my mom and granmother happy... so now I'm in a pickle. I want to switch careers (to arts or journalism for which I have a passion for) but there's one thing STOPPING ME! I use to be so into psychics... I've been to see 3 of them. And SUPER oddly enough all THREE OF them predicted I was going to be a nurse in the future. Weird huh. They all told me I was going to be happy in the future and that I was going to have a good job as a specialized nurse blah blah. I can't shake off what they said. :S It's stopping me from changing college programs. I'm sooo scared that if I switch to Journalism or Arts i'll "screw up" my future somehow! Please help! Any advice would help! Thanks!

I am 24 yrs. old and I feel like I've already lived enough life. I have already done all the things I ever really wanted to do. I realized my dream and now it's over. I've fallen in love and now that's over. I am totally stuck in "going nowhere land". I can't seem to muster up any strength or good reasons to go on. Maybe you can help.

I don't know if other people get it. Like, when your sitting in a quiet classroom and the only noise you hear is the teacher writing on the chalkboard, your brain can start to tingle. Just curious of what it is.

I am 19 years old and have come to the realization *sadly* that I know absolutely nothing, my head is virtually empty despite being in school for 18 years, despite living with a college educated parents... I realize I don't talk, and if so, it's "increments." I'm thinking this may be a case of autism but not asperger's as I have no real obsession and not low functioning as I am physically able to move, talk and completely look like a "normal" person. However, how can I be classified as "high functioning" if I can't remember anything or critically think? It is as though I am an eternal child... and don't think it will ever change :(

We see wars and conflicts where man is killing man with impunity.Doesnt man the aggressor and his victim realise that they will both perish and be in the grave to be eaten up by the creatures that live in that habitat.
