... I First saw (the man I was to fall in love with ) rising from a calm pool of water. In the background there was a mural of a "Titanic-looking" ship painted on the wall.

As he was rising (slowly) from the pool of water, --when he looked at me he smiled. It was a very peaceful smile.

What could this dream have meant, if anything?

Probably means that you are a mammal that experiences dreams during REM sleep? I don't believe in superstitions about dreams. They do not tell the future. And I have never seen evidence that they tell us anything important about ourselves. If you want a wild fanciful answer try asking: 1) Psychics (only $1.99 a minute!) 2) a deck of tarot cards or 3)Imaginary friends.
