We see wars and conflicts where man is killing man with impunity.Doesnt man the aggressor and his victim realise that they will both perish and be in the grave to be eaten up by the creatures that live in that habitat.

Because it is the cycle of human nature-"survival of the fittest". While the biggest fear in life is complete solitude- striving our way to be on top is runner up and it supports the fear of being alone.
We compete so that we can have all things and be happy or even well off. For what reason? So that we can keep company that will enjoy the things in which we enjoy.
Sure when it's all said and done, we all become "food for the worms" as you so cleverly put it... but who will go through life without a fight to be the best they can be?

It is the reminisce of animal instinct. It is the competitiveness built-in in all the animals. To survive or winning mating rights, people must compete with each other. Nowaday, to dominate other is to have others listen, obey and give you the way. If everyone is doing that, conflicts are definitely there.

If you look at animal's world, animals fight to death just for the right to mate and territory. We are no difference.

The death holding the pleasures of life are more beautiful than the horrors of death without the pleasures of life, so why not make the most out of life, so your death won't be meaningless, and live on through other people's memories.?

What are those , "words to live by "?
Some of us just want to live in peace ...and there are those that are bothered by that . I'd say it's worth fighting for .
