I have dealt with a lot of people who blame their behavior on their parents and how they were raised. So I guess I just want to know why people allow that as an okay response? I think there is a point and time where people should be able to say, "I did this because, I wanted to, not because of who I am or how I was raised."

I am a quiet person. I like 1 on 1 discussions. I'm someone that rather listens than talk. So, I'm not the one to yell Hi with a big smile on my face, grab people by the shoulders and ask "how are you"! But I still want to make a good first impression!

99.9%! of you will not get this even after i explain below..so just read the amazon reviews for the book ON HAVING NO HEAD, or better still read the book.

up to a certain age we dont have a self image..we are just infinite little creatures...but then by the repeated use of mirrors, we begin to construct or fabricate a false head on top of our necks....we are trying to put [with our imagination] one of those things on the top of our necks that we[from the outside] see other people have on the top of theirs.
the only thing is we are seeing theirs from an onlookers vantage point and they are doing the same: visualizing someone elses head from an onlookers vantage point and sticking that outsiders viewpoint imaginary head on top of their neck.
the true first person experience of what is really on the top of your neck is infinte space, unblemished..crystal clear, and as the author douglas harding says, it the radical cure for any real or imagined facial blemish or disfigurement.

if you say " I am sorry" when they are telling you something that it means you are accepting blame? I often say I am sorry to people and have my entiore life, even when I have not done something wrong. I was raised with values, ethics and morals. I was taught compassion, empathy and understandingness. When someone tells me about a bad event, or some unpleasant thing I say I am sorry indicating a sense of sorryfullness for the situation for their pain for the road not being smooth for them at that point. Just as people ask questions for differnt reasons, it is not always to seek knowledge. Saying one is sorry also, is not about accepting blame. What has happened over the years to change good manners into a black and white right or wrong world. I do not plan on loosing by empathetic nature but I sure wish people would understand this more deeply.

When someone does drugs, they get addicted. For some people it becomes such a problem that they lose almost everything. Why don't these people just quit doing them? I mean, when that person is sober, don't they realize what's going on around them? Don't they realize they are ruining their lives and those that love them?

I had experienced what they called mental illness many years ago, it has turned out to be enlightenment.
The 'illness' enabled me to see how wonderful everything was, to feel a strong love for everyone, it persuaded me to give loads of my stuff in the street, and spend money like water.
Now that wonderful feeling has been absorbed by my normal personality, and my problem is that whenever I go into a shop, I see loads of beautiful things, and I cannot afford to buy all I want.
What should I do?

for me, it would probably have to be my cousin. he is smart in some ways, but he just does not think logically, and he lives in a fantasy world, and he needs to wake up and grow up and realize that the world doesn't revolve around him.

My little Daschund, Mggie, Thought me what true love is. I once woke up in a bad mood, just as I was leaving for work Maggie wanted tp play with me, she would not let me go without. I got cheezed off with her pushed her away real hard. She fell off the couch with a bang. She was hurt and crawled under the bed. I left for work but all day I could not stop cursing myself for being such a jerk. I had thoughts thae she would never come back to me like she used to. I got back home early eager to see her but not expecting too much. As soon as I got home my baby jumped up and started licking my face as if nothing had ever happened. I was really moved by her unconditional and self less love.
She is really sick now, paraylised on her hind legs, cant move and it is killing me, I cant see her suffer but putting her to sleep is out of the question. What do I do?
