My little Daschund, Mggie, Thought me what true love is. I once woke up in a bad mood, just as I was leaving for work Maggie wanted tp play with me, she would not let me go without. I got cheezed off with her pushed her away real hard. She fell off the couch with a bang. She was hurt and crawled under the bed. I left for work but all day I could not stop cursing myself for being such a jerk. I had thoughts thae she would never come back to me like she used to. I got back home early eager to see her but not expecting too much. As soon as I got home my baby jumped up and started licking my face as if nothing had ever happened. I was really moved by her unconditional and self less love.
She is really sick now, paraylised on her hind legs, cant move and it is killing me, I cant see her suffer but putting her to sleep is out of the question. What do I do?

You do what is best for the friend you love. Whether you watch her suffer or you put her to sleep, you will be in horrible pain. You need to decide what she would want if she could ask you. Who is helped by her staying alive at this point? Only you, because it's so difficult to let go. Not her.

I just lost my own dog a few weeks ago, and it wasnt due to sickness. It was sudden. I'm still dealing with it. I understand how awful it is. It WILL be painful to lose her, but you have to remember that you love her and that she's not having fun now. She needs you to be strong for her, because she can't do it for herself.

I know what you must be going through. All I can tell you is that when you finally make the decision that you know you have to, let yourself mourn. Be around people who knew her and understand what you're feeling. DON'T share your hurt with non-dog people who might say 'it's only a dog'. They will never understand. If you can, find a pet loss group near you, thru the human society. It's a bigger help than you might think to be around people who are going thru the same thing as you are.

Best of luck, my heart goes out to you.

Love, is something sacred. that can happen between any two people... It is not pride, not boasts, not envy, but patience, sacrifice and sensitivity...
I think you should do whatever you can for your little Mggie. Just think what you can do to please her most. Is the leg out of repair? You could make her feel happy even without it. Treat her like a member of your life, some human being. To be frank, I'm touched by the selfless love of both of you.... :-)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
