I am not. T.V. is an amazing medium, one that reaches millions and is as filled with as many if not more possiblities than film. But the problem is that T.V. networks are, in general, just out to make money. So they appeal to the lowest common denominator. They produce mindless, simply entertaining programs. I have nothing against watching a reality show or silly drama every once in a while; it's kind of fun sometimes. The problem is when those shows become the majority of what is on T.V. People are obsessed with these shows, the shows that are purely comercial; they contain no artistry or intelligent thought except for how to keep people watching. And people just lap it up. It disturbs me. I see no hint of reality or anything that reflects on the nature of humanity in any positive or negative way in such shows. The truly great shows are those that are thought-provoking, controversial, intelligent, reflective, - on more than one level. They can be comedy or drama, factual or fictional. They're not exclusive to the intellectual population, but offer everyone something to think about and improve their minds and spirits with. That is what I wish T.V was. Some shows definitely fit the description, but not nearly enough.

It's not my reality that I'm concerned with. I'm 60 yrs old and I know what my reality is. It's the ones that have low self esteem and don't know what life should be like. Those are the ones that are being spoonfed by fear. Some people call those feeders ............. Democrats.

I'm 60 as well. If anyone believes that tv represents reality life itself will counter it. Except for a very few shows I had no idea what was on tv when I was in my 20's & 30's because I was out living my life. Its quite possible that some people will always see tv as reality but those people are known as......republicans.

Absolutely! It saves me the trouble of having to think. Plus, my reality gets to match everybody else's. That way I don't have to feel different. I could use a few more flavours, but, hey, when you're being spoon-fed, you can't really complain.
