Also there is a voice inside my head, now note I am not crazy but this voice says you are stupiud every time I make a fail at something. I just got out of a mentally abuse and also physically abuse home and my parents which are the the people that have done this to me seems like they want me to fail because they have fail in there life. My mother which is an alcoholic and smokes pot comes over to my apartment and offers me beer and she just seems as if she is wanting me to fail. I really dont know what to do please Help

In my opinion, one of the most irritating habits that one can have is assuming or jumping to conclusions. You know, assume and make an *** of you and me? Not only are these assumptions often times erroneous, but much of the time you are forced to defend yourself against them. Also, by defending yourself an argument often ensues because they become defensive.

Here are two questions:

1. Why do you think some people assume/jump to conclusions and refuse to modify their behavior?

2. How can these people be politely dealt with if they refuse to change their ways?

Thanks in advance.

I blush a lot, find eye contact hard, I fidget and play with my hair etc. I have naked in public dreams sometimes. Aside from this, I have lots of friends can be very confident, don't mind speaking my mind and making a fool out of myself. (and I do so regularly) My best friend thinks its funny when I say that i'm shy. She's like if your so shy why were we all chucking ice down you top at the pub? For example. She says that people are not aware that I sometimes feel shy. However I feel that my nervousness holds me back. I sometimes feel like I can't keep a thought in my head long enough to say it out loud as I feel so shy. So my question is why is it that others aren't always aware of the fact that I feel and look stressed due to shyness, but also why do I feel like this? And why can I feel like this walking into boots but happily dance around to the tweenies at the nursery where I work?

I want to sort of take up meditation.
Where do I start?

Any good and brief resources?
Reading whole books just to get a grasp of the subject doesn't sound like too fun. Short guides or so would probably do.

Thanks.

A theorist had a theory that rude and disrespectful kids make rich and successfull adults.

Is this the reason why why some parents encourage GenNext kids to abuse others. Do you believe in this theory?
