There are some Chinese ladies that will wink at me. I asked my wife about this, since she saw the lady wink. She said do not jump to conclusions; she is only exercising a friendly geature within the ethnic group culture.
I jumped to the conclusion that she was making a pass. I had made this conclusion because of preconceptions. That is your answer, preconceived notions.

We all "conclude" facts that are presented to us if there is no other information available. My question is, and I supposse it is yours as well is, Why if there be a positive assumption or conclusion and a negative, why do some people choose to go with the negative? These people are themselves negative and often very cynical in every aspect of life and so to conclude that something someone has done is deviant is usually because they themselves have motives that are often questionable as far as morals go, have issues with authority, or are often self serving in the things they say and do. Being this way themselves they tend to look at others as they see themselves. These people are POISON! Stay away from them. They are often the cheaters and liars and backstabbers in life and because they know that THEY would do this or that, they automatcally assume it or everyone else and has NOTHING to do with the individual themselves. These types can NOT be trusted and often manipulate words and scenarios to serve themselves not careing who gets hurt along the way.

#2. When you are an artist in a booth somewhere you don't know you have to learn to treat the customer well but get them moving. You have 20 mins. to interest them and then send them on because everyone wants to talk. I was an artist, the way I communicate was with paintings, not talk. So I would tell them a story or two, give them a card with the name of a painting and sort of send them off with a sort of polite but firm direction. Jeannie taught me. Act like a businessman or woman and be decisive and firm. Let someone else tell them of the Four Agreements (a Toltec Wisdom Book). One of the agreements is to: Don't make assumptions. They can't express what they want. They can't communicate clearly so they create drama.

Your answer to #1. is this, point blank: They think they have ALL the answers and won't admit to when they don't.
#2. If you can't cut off contact with them, then you can ask them to please hear everything you have to say, and tell them everyone needs clarification sometimes, and no one can always know the whole story. You need the whole story before having a conclusion and really have the answers.
I hope I been of help!
Ya know, my boyfriend has a bad habit doing that with me. One example is he thinks that because other women do or think something bad, I do it too. Well, I am my own individual, and different than other women in many respects.

Answer to # 1. People usually copy whatever they hear or read. In other words, they can't come up with their own ideas. It might also be lack of intelligence.
# 2. If they are annoying, like a person I know at work, I usually say out loud: " Hey everyone, don't ever argue with (his name) he's always right and we will always be wrong". Then I smile and laugh so that he knows I'm just making fun of him. That worked with him. Now he thinks twice before answering and does not argue anymore.
Excellent Question. Pleasure to answer it.

I think people jump to conclusions because it just comes naturally to them. They think before they speak, and they don't wanna change their opinion because then, they'll be forced to admit that they're wrong, and people hate to be wrong.
I still don't know how to deal with it though... I have many friends like that, and it pisses me off too. Usually I just prove that I'm right, but I don't shove it in their faces and say "Told you so" cuz that'll just make them even more mad.

Just out right tell them that they need to wait and discover all of the facts before they voice their opinions. OOH, this gets on my nerves too.
