I agree, we are all have the potential to becoming addicted to an activity, it could be prayer or it could be serial murdering. It would be very difficult to understand or rationalize why some individuals would do certain activities on a consistent basis. Though,it maybe related to your brain chemistry which involves the chemical dopamine known to be responsible for a euphoric or happy feeling. It may also be linked to a history of events that has left the behind where he or she believes should be or deserves. When in it comes to good and bad, I would say that it depends on the end result. Typically I believe if it were to be considered good by most of society, it would promote humanity and or gave back more than what it initially took away regarding resources, time, and effort. The inverse would apply to what we would consider evil and bad. Is their any better and worse addictions, that depends on the situation. You could be addicted to computers related activities and it prevents you from being closer to your family or from completing necessary tasks that should otherwise have higher priority. Or, you could addicted to using computers in a humanitarian aid situation, setting up communication networks for the red cross during a disaster. Ultimately it is the victim or the beneficiary that greatly impacts if it benefits society or not. My addiction, answering questions on yahoo

I dont know if everyone is addicted to someone.
I think our current society has turned us into computer-bots
we sit in cubicals all week and then sit at home all weekend.
There are a lot of computer addicts....I dont know if you want to call yourself "lucky"
ANY addiction that harms yourself (mentally or physically), harms others (friends or family) or gets in the way of your job or education IS a problem, and I would advise you to get help for it.
No addiction is better or worse, if its reaking havoc on your life its a problem. Just because its not crack doesnt mean its not a problem
Get help and good luck!

A chemical dependency is a very different thing than being hooked on computers. If the power went out in your house you would not go through the withdrawal symptoms that a heroine addict or a cocaine addict would go through. Sure you would "go crazy" not having it, but you could manage and figure out other things to do. For heroine addicts, it is literally a dangerous procedure to go through withdrawal and these people need constant supervision in a medical facility.
Is sitting around doing web surfing and email checking good for you? No, but neither is is bad, unless it effects your exercise routine and other day to day tasks such as paying the bills and cleaning the house.
I guess my new addition is yahoo answers.

I wouldn't say were all addicted, but we are all potentially addicted. Usually though addiction comes when we are not satisfied about something in our lives. But we have the ability to control our addiction - it's all just will power and I honestly think that any kind of addiction should be controlled because addiction leads to loss of control with various levels of seriousness.

Yeah, everyone has something they love a little bit too much. More an obsession than an addiction though. Mine's bands. Getting obsessed with them and addicted to going to see them. I've seen my favourite band a stupid number of times this year.

I don't think addiction to computer is not true addiction. Let's say you don't have computer for one day. How bad do you feel??
If you are drug addict, one day you have no drug, you probably feel bad, and physical and emotion problems go toegther. For some addiction, it is only emotionally such as Yanswers or Computer addiction.

I'm addicted to yahoo answers. At least that's what my fiancee says. But then again, he's addicted to fantasy baseball. You should see us both run up the stairs when we get home to get to the computer first.

Addictions are only bad if you let them control you. Like the old saying goes "You start sucking out of the bottle, and then the bottle starts sucking out of you." That goes for anything.
