Don't know why but in my dream I just took some scissors & just started to snip off my fingers 1 by 1. Had some trouble with the ring finger but eventually got that one off too. I didn't have any pain & I wasn't even thinking about what I would do with a fingerless hand... until I gathered up all my severed fingers and went to go type on the computer! I felt my amputated fingers in my other hand, they were just like meaty twig like things. I looked at my nubby hand & it finally dawned on me what I had done to myself & I freaked out. I ran sobbing to my mother & showed her my now-fingerless hand. I begged her to take me to the hospital & she just sat there. I begged & pleaded & she said she was too busy. I begged some more & she said, "too bad, it's too late, you can't reattach those fingers and you are going to have to learn to live with what you did to yourself." She wouldn't even try to comfort me; she was as cold as stone! :( There is a lot more to this dream but not enuff rm2tp

how would u describe a feeling sudden of emptiness, yet bitterly joyful all at once, and a shock of happiness, both a mixture of sadness and pure joy at once, as if you taste a bitterness on your tongue yet the taste of the sweet, sweet sensation that your heart has a beat to?

i want to know a simple, well decription for that. i cant recall it, i know its on the tip of my tongue though.

I thought it was a really interesting movie. Just watched it with my girlfriend and it really opened up my understanding of the nature of this mental disorder. I'd like to hear people's perspective on this movie and on pedophilia in general.

Why does this only apply to "dating". When you invite a friend to dinner or lunch you go DUTCH (even if its a new friend you just met and you're eating for the first time). Your friend will never say "Wait you invited ME.. YOU should pay!". When its NOT about DATING this rule seems to GO OUT THE WINDOW...

I don't get why women (or even men in this case) have to take situations that would normally be SIMPLE and make them more COMPLEX just because 'sex' might occur.

Silly isnt it??? Silly.....

Some women seem to think that chauvanism cloaked in humor is amusing, even when it's directed at them! To me, it's like listening to some of those misogynistic rap songs that talk about women as sex objects, and quite a few women will say, "oh it doesn't offend me, because it doesn't apply to me," when clearly the lyrics are referring to women in general, not a specific female. Am I the only one who finds this sort of thing offensive?

I am having trouble finding a correlation between fierce working conditions (i.e. child labor, factory working, etc.)and standard of living...could someone please give me an explanation of how they are related. I think understand the concept of standard of living, but every time I go back and try relating it to working enviornments, I can't seem to find why they are related...

Any explanation is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help!!!

Look at this article and the nasty responses from women. I was shocked because nothing in the article was offensive.

http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/singles/datingtips/16758/11-things-women-dont-know-about-men

The rude defensive responses from women just make women look like spoiled brats. They want to behave however they want and guys have to accept it. But they can talk forever about ways men need to change... AMAZING...

I have been told my many that I bring joy to them through laughter and a positive and upbeat personality. But one or two people have hurt my feelings yesterday, so much in fact that I became physically ill. Those two made me feel so horrible that I forgot about the people who appreciate me. How do I put aside the thoughts of despair due to less than a handfull of people, and continue to be the person I truly am? I feel that it may be difficult for me to face these two mean people, and that I may even have to change myself to "accomodate" them. How can I stay who I am and not let them beat me down? I am in fear of these two causing problems for me at my job, otherwise I have no problem in ripping them a new one. Their pettiness and what ever else they have making their lives miserable, do they seek me out as a target because I am able to be what they can not? A happy person? I ask because this is a problem of mine and I find it difficult to be objective. Thank you.

I don't see why so many people hate on bipolar people JUST because they have bipolar disorder? I mean, I have bipolar disorder and I don't even seem like it...though when I tell them I am bipolar they start to forget who I am and start looking down on me. It really sucks. And the people who judge me are supposed to be "christians"! How effin stupid is that? Why does pretty much everyone in society hate on bipolar people, even without getting to actually KNOW the person well enough to judge them in the first place??? This is really pissing me off.

This article's title brought up an interesting point "Women's Medical Needs Are Vastly Different Than Men's": http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/11/071119170125.htm

Since women have more hormonal fluctations and that takes more training to research, the majority of medical research has been performed using primarily male subjects. But can't we overcome hormonal differences in this day and age? What other reasons would there be for not using female subjects?

According to the article:
"Women wake sooner from anesthesia, have less familiar symptoms of cardiovascular disease and are more likely to suffer from depression and sleep problems-- just to name a few of the differences."

What could be the effects of applying medical research performed on men, and applying it to women? I hear from some masculinists that men's health needs are being ignored, but is that an exaggeration, if men are still being used as the subject for the majority of US medical research studies?
