Are you more afraid of accidentally hurting them (stepping on them, dropping them, etc.) or doing something abusive or inappropriate. If it's the former, spend more time around them in order to desensitize yourself. Start slow by hanging out with a friend with kids in a large area, move up to going to the playground. Your anxiety will increase momentarily but it will be worth it in the end. If it's the latter, see a counselor to work through some of your fears and any issues you have from the past. Maintain your distance from kids until you have more clarity. Good luck!
