yes. You just have to let time pass and hopefully they realize that they may be wrong.
Good Luck.
I have a lot of experience with this.
My parents tend to do this with me often and I always apoligize even if it's not my fault.
Don't worry..what goes around comes around :)

Yes, I apologise much too often even in my own conversations with people who were more successful than me. It was out of habit because of a leaned trait from my parents.
And if people were "daft" to me, those were the ones that took my kindness as a weakness. Now I just think of them as an "a-hole".

I used to apologize for having an opinion and a mouth to speak it. Not anymore. And I never took the hit for something I didn't do.
But I'm not married to an abuser. He barked a lot in youth but I just barked back! :O))

Yeah. I called this girl at 9:00 pm and left a message on her answering machine. She called me back at 11:30 pm to chew me out for waking her up. Apparently, somebody had JUST called her and woken her up, and I guess she assumed it was me because I had left a message earlier. I told her, "I called you over two hours ago." She didn't argue with me about it, but she was still snide and said, "Well don't call me and wake me up!" She was a snot.

I did this all the time with my ex husband just to keep myself from getting beat up. I catch myself even now still doing it out of habit and low self esteem.

I have never apologized for something I did not do. Let people believe what they want. I've been punished for things I didn't do as an adolescent ... it's very frustrating, but I would not apologize.

Yeh. A supervisor.

I think they get hired as supervisors based on how good they can insult, put down, and control others.
