I have done two very stupid things and now I have lost face and probably gained a reputation for being a sort of creep among a a rather large but distant group of people. Even though the group that hold this view are far removed from my actual social circle I still feel very ashamed about the whole subject. Is there any way to regain face? or is reputation forever tarnished and impossible to repair?

My cousin recently went to her college counsler to talk. coming out of the room she was told that she is bi-polar, a threat to society, and needed medication. note: she is 18 and her father has passed away in late august. she gets really depressed about it and cries and usually it only takes talking and conforting to get her through it. she has never hurt anyone or held in any agression. i feel that what the counsler told her is every unethical of her and an abuse of her position. who is the counsler to say that a grieving child is threat to society when my cousin just went into there to talk to someone? what can be done about this situation i am very angry that this had to happen.

They say the truth will set you free, which is true and good, but they say that the truth hurts which is true and bad, so is the truth a bad or good thing?

I have a guy friend who tells me what other guys say about me. Apparently, I look like a girl who's easy, stupid, and naive. I don't wear slutty clothing or anything like that, in fact you'd barely ever catch me wearing anything besides jeans.

For some reason I give off the impression that I'm one of...'those' girls... you know what I mean? That you typically see in a high school, caught up in their own superficial lives?

In reality I'm really quiet and nerdy and I really don't have very many friends at all because I just don't seem to get along with people my age.

Is it a bad thing that I give off the appearance of stupidity? Should my personality correspond with how others view me?

I have a real negative side to me. I focus on all the things that are wrong with the world and I can't seem to stop myself.
Does anyone have any good techniques for stopping these kind of thoughts in their tracks?

I can't help giving my opinion when I see or hear about someone doing something I consider wrong or stupid.
I so badly want to be the type of person that doesn't cast judgment on people but it just comes out.
Does anyone know any good techniques I can use to stop it?

This is going to be difficult to explain to you guys because you would to have have seen it.I am going to do my best to describe it.

So I see these light white spots, swirls of white or like someone is flashing a soft light in my eyes. I know it is not from something in the my room because when I open my eyes I see complete dark. I close them again and there they are. This has been going on for a month now. It is quite weird, no idea what it would be. What do you think?

CURVIER women may have smart children because hip fat contains polyunsaturated fatty acids critical for the development of the fetus's brain.

Using data from the US National Center for Health Statistics, William Lassek at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and Steven Gaulin of the University of California, Santa Barbara, found a child's performance in cognition tests was linked to their mother's waist-hip ratio, a proxy for how much fat she stores on her hips.
Now will American woman stop looking revering those skinny ugly models and stop with the anorexia/bulemia?

Children whose mothers had wide hips and a low waist-hip ratio scored highest, leading Lassek and Gaulin to suggest that fetuses benefit from a rich supply of useful fatty acids (Evolution and Human Behavior, DOI: 10.1016/j.evolhumbehav.2007.07.005)

Their eyes met across a crowded room and he thought "wow she's hot, so pretty, so self effacing, so modest, so pure"

But some hours later, some days later, some weeks later...

they are just Jenny and James, in dead end jobs, bored of each other, bored of life...clinging to the first spark of attraction, living on in quiet desperation...

Do we pick our partners from our fantasies then blame them for their reality?

(can we learn to be more realistic, and kinder?)
