Praise makes you hate yourself because what's being said is an example of what you THINK you lack. You hate the people giving the praise because you either think they are liars, or you think that anyone that could like you is suspect. As to why you are like this, that reason is somewhere in your personal history, and you will come to know it after a lot of time and thought. These thoughts are self destructive, and can be redirected, but I'm sure you know that already. I was there in my teens and early twenty's, so I'm quite empathetic. Feel free to email me, if you think talking about it could help.

You are not able to see your strengths, as others see them. They praise and admire you because you have certain "gifts". We all have them, no matter how we feel about ourselves.
My guess is that you are a teenager and these feelings are quite ordinary for your age group. I promise you..these WILL PASS...so rather than try to fight them or change them, just accept that you feel the way you do, KNOW that feelings are NOT FACTS and go out and do something FUN...something you enjoy that is good for you. Hang in there....you'll be OK Try talking to a trusted adult or friend.

That's pretty understandable, really. If the more they praise you, the more you hate yourself, of course the next logical emotional step is to be pissed off at them for making you hate yourself more. I wish I could just reach you somehow and help you know it's alright to be loved and admired. I would give you a hug if I only could , even if you hated me for it. Somewhere in your mind it would resonate.

well maybe you should just tell them that you aren't a role model and there's no reason to be admired... some people like being admired and some people don't :/

Sounds like, maybe you don't trust or love your self, once you
do you will love and trust others.
