Whenever I go to sleep I see white spots, what could this be?

This is going to be difficult to explain to you guys because you would to have have seen it.I am going to do my best to describe it.

So I see these light white spots, swirls of white or like someone is flashing a soft light in my eyes. I know it is not from something in the my room because when I open my eyes I see complete dark. I close them again and there they are. This has been going on for a month now. It is quite weird, no idea what it would be. What do you think?

maybe its an angel. Pray before you go to bed and see what happens. I've been visited by an angel before right when I was waking up.

But seriously, as a first step to possibly remedy the situation, be sure when you sleep, you sleep in a darkened room. Your photoreceptors need to recharge. Make sure your bedroom windows do not expose you to excessive bright lights or headlights passing.

If the problem persists, white spots or flashes could indicate irregularities in retinal ganglion cell synapses and possibly elevated intraocular pressure. It would be wise to report this to an ophthalmologist. He will run some vision tests that include identifying flashes of light in your full field of vision.

I found a forum and they said it might actually be migraine symptoms without the migrain.
"vision loss that RETURNS (did it return?) could be vascular related or migraine related. what you describe sounds like a form of migraine, but you need an eye exam to rule out bigger problems. and yes, you can have migraine symptoms w/o having a headache. you need a visual field test and a pupil dilation to see if you've regained your vision and if your retina is healthy."

I have the wierd power to do something like that whenever I want, many people do, but your mind is trying to relax and those are from it doing it, when you want to do it anytime, put your eyes on your arm, relax them, but don't close them, and you MAY see them, sometimes you do, and others you don't.
A side effect is that your eyes hurt a little after.
