Has anyone done an analysis of abortion's effect on illegal immigration? I'm guessing that # of abortions since Roe v. Wade who would now be working adults + their adult children - all the jobs shipped overseas - average # of unemployed - # of legal immigrant workers = # of illegal immigrants

I did a very bad thing yesterday to PJ. I answered a question by hala here and I said that PJ was stalking me and harassing me in YA and email and he did Not do it! I thought PJ was the person who did it because the name and avatar were so close..I hit him because I thought he was some one else..

PJ did Nothing to me Ever and I want to say in here that I was Totally wrong to him!

I realised this when I read an email from PJ asking me why I said that and I looked at his profile and the profile of the creep that I had blocked and I saw what I did to him and I was shaking and crying and emailed him back to apologise and say what happened.

He forgave me Like That and than told me about losing his account:

I'm talking about people who report of questions and answers from sheer malice because they don't like the poster or because they don't like what they say..

Yes..I got violated when I apologised to PJ for something wrong I said about him and I asked for advice about how to halp get Yahoo to restore his Prashant account that was shut down by cowardly lowlife reportniks.

It was an honest question that did not hurt anyone..

okay I have a list of symptoms and I need to be able to tell if this indicates a personality disorder and if so what is it.

- person constantly frets and worries about whether or not they are normal

- person often daydreams to the point where it distracts them from doing other things

- person does not have enough interests[hobbies]

- person fears relationships because they are afraid that person will leave them and they are not good enough

-- person procrastinates severely partly due to the amount of time they spend daydreaming of other things

-person often gets very nervous in public and thinks about each conversation they have and think about what they did wrong and things they should have said.

- persons moods change constantly.

background information: this person has had many failed relationships and was bullied often in school.

This guy adores me for about 1 1/2 years. We went to the same college---we always ran into each other. After notices he likes me---I began to like him too, but we did not talk because we both shy and intimidated by each others.

Before my graduation I told the guy---I am leaving. (That was the first time I talked to him after 1 1/2 years) He was totally in shock, but he told me good luck.

I was very depressed, sad, and miss him a lot. I tried to search for him. Luckily, I found his myspace. I read his stuffs on his my space. He wrote journeys about us. He wrote an amazing poem---he claims he loves me. Although he does not know where I was or what to do, but he will wait for me...

I think it is amazing how we tried to hide our feelings in front of each other, but the facts is we are in love and care about each other a lot...

What do you think of this? Are we in love?

P.S. It has been three years and we have gone to good and bad.

Im doing a project for my sociology class and need ppls(all races) opinion on why 10 yrs ago black parents didnt really take their kids to children movies whereas now more black parents do.

Plz help this is like all the background info I have so far(and yes i know its lame)-In my world history class we watched Mulan, Adladin, and Prince of Eyjupt and each time a lot of the black kids never saw it before. My gf is black and she doesnt even know the story of the little mermaid or pocohantas. But i think things are changing bc my gf's 3 y/o neice has everything Dora the Explorer and her nephew thinks happy feet is the best movie ever.I work at the aquarium and last week I saw this little black boy all by himself crying his eyes out. I though he had lost his parents but when I asked him why he was crying he was like "I can't find Nemo".

not what controls morality. Both Atheists and Christians feel good when they do something for someone else and unhappy when they wrong someone else. The fictional Bible deals largely with stories of immorality, and is unnecessary if not dangerous.
FOOTNOTE: I suppose there are a few Christians who hate people and only do good because they think it will get them to a mythical Heaven. They are exceptions.
Most Atheists and Christians are good for the same reason. It makes us happy to help someone and makes us unhappy to harm someone. (Atheists do it without that confusing fictional Bible, so I prefer their natural approach.)

SECOND FOOTNOTE: I presume that the believers and non-believers in other religions are similarly motivated.

Please don't dismiss this as a joke before looking at the sources because this is serious.

At least two academic studies have shown that men are coerced into sex almost as much as women.

One, appearing in the peer reviewed journal 'Sex Roles', conducted at Washington University:
http://www.washington.edu/newsroom/news/1999archive/07-99archive/k072699.html

"Overall, 34 men (21 percent of the male participants) and 36 women (28 percent) reported being recipients of one or more of five types of unwanted sexual contact. The study also showed that men who experienced unwanted sexual contact reported more symptoms of depression than the other males in the study."

And another study, in the Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality conducted at the University of Guelph shows the same:
http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/story.html?id=f926b44a-39c9-4c7d-bc44-24001f40c213

"A study of 518 university students found that 38.8% of men reported being pressured into a range of sexual activity."

And no it's not because I'm a big fat liar!!
I can stare people right in the eye when they're talking to me, but when I reply and start talking back to them my gaze is all over the place and then I start thinking about how rude it must be that I can't look them in the eye, so I'll take a quick look and I'll love that they are looking engaged, but then flitter off looking round the room again!
Why can't I look people in the eye and did anyone ever overcome this and how?

“O you who believe! Have fear of God, and be among the truthful.” (Quran 9:119)

Ask the average person to define truthfulness and the answer will most likely be restricted to something about truthful speech. Islam, however, teaches that truthfulness is far more than having an honest tongue. In Islam, truthfulness is the conformity of the outer with the inner, the action with the intention, the speech with belief, and the practice with the preaching. As such, truthfulness is the very cornerstone of the upright Muslim’s character and the springboard for his virtuousness deeds.

The great sage and scholar of Islam, Ibn al-Qayyim, said: “Truthfulness is the greatest of stations, from it sprout all the various stations of those traversing the path to God; and from it sprouts the upright path which if not trodden, perdition is that person’s fate. Through it is the hypocrite distinguished from the believer and the inhabitant of Paradise from the denizen of Hell. It is the sword of God in His earth: it is not placed on anything except that it cuts it; it does not face falsehood expect that it hunts it and vanquishes it; whoever fights with it will not be defeated; and whoever speaks it, his word will be made supreme over his opponent. It is the very essence of deeds and the well spring of spiritual states, it allows the person to embark boldly into dangerous situations, and it is the door through which one enters the presence of the One possessing Majesty. It is the foundation of the building of Islam, the central pillar of the edifice of certainty and the next level in ranking after the level of prophethood.”[1]

Ok, I'm an actor and I'm currently working on a tour and am going to start a new one in the near future with a new group of people and a new company.
The problem is, since starting my current job, I realised that I don't have the amazing personality I thought I had. I always thought I had a gift for long, engaging conversations with my friends and when meeting new boys... but no-one in this job ever shows me enough interest to hold a long conversation. My humour is very much based on sarcasm and - I'm sure there's a word for it, but what I tend to do is make jokey assumptions about people to their faces, like, "Oh, you're from Liverpool, glad I put my steering lock on" (ok, I've never said THAT, but I didn't have an actual example to hand!) I know I need to wait a lot longer than a first meeting to be this way but I find sarcasm and this type of humour helps me relax and hide behind this weird front as I don't know how else to be. Also... please see below, running out of room...

Say for instance you might hate a public figure/celeb and bad mouth them all the time but if it came to meeting them you would act different. Let me give you an example. I was told a story recently about the taoiseach of ireland bertie ahern. Basically he was visiting the set of an irish program in the ongoing fight to promote the irish language. I was told this from someone who witnessed it. I thought it was hilarious the way he told it. The workers on the set all knew the taoiseach was coming and one woman in particular was giving out sh**it about him coming. She was supposed to of been furious and saying she wasnt shaking his hand etc. Anyways later in the day the taoiseach arrived and he shook everyones hand on the set. This woman who was giving out sh***it about him apparently turned to putty the second he shook her hand :P haha. Is it something to do with these peoples charm that this happens. When that story was told one of the lads butted in and said to .............

okay, so last night i had this wierd dream where i was first of all, not there in body, but i could just see waht was going on. i was looking out of a window (not my window) out onto a street. i witnessed a car crash involving about seven cars, all one after the other. they all were complete write-offs, i could see that. then i was transported to the scene, and i had to look at all of the mangled bodies of people who died in this crash, and every one of them was someone i knew and loved... worst of all, i saw myself among the bodies strewn all over the road. and then it hit me that i was the one to cause the crash, that it was my fault all my loved ones had died. right then i wanted to scream, call 999 or just break down crying. as soon as it had begun it was over, and everything was black, in the darkness of sleep.

this dream really haunts me... what the hell does it mean???
thank you for listening. i really want to know what it means.

Official Shrub.com has been doing a series of discussions on racism, and the latest article about racism is titled "If you have to say "i'm not racist" chances are you are".

Here's a quote from the article:
"A trend that you can’t help but notice if you follow any sort of racial issues is that when white people do something racist, they almost always include in their apology, “I’m not a racist”. Most of you should know the Michael Richards “but I’m not a racist!” protest in his apology after he was caught on tape being racist. But it’s not just the celebrities who pitch this line, it’s average people as well." http://blog.shrub.com/

It made me wonder the same thing about sexism. If you have to say "i'm not sexist", does that mean you are being sexist? Why or why not?

I recovered from major depression several years ago, and recently I've been thinking about and recalling the things of my childhood that made me depressed... and I've sort of been feeling myself spiral back down into that same depression but with added stress from being in college, not being able to find a job, etc... I just feel helpless like there is nothing I can do about it... and I don't want to have to go through the same therapy and several medications I had to before.. I've realized what was wrong and dealt with it and moved on... but now it's upsetting me again... why am I thinking about these things? And what am I supposed to do to stop myself from going into that downward spiral? Any suggestions?? And I don't need any smart people saying things like, "grow up..." or anything else mean like that... this is really upsetting me and I don't know what to do... I don't know how to stop it and I could really use some advice. Thanks so much in advance! :)
